Yet again, 808 Grinds - Food Cart, 100% delivered the goods...grinds... They're my all-around go to for Hawaiin food. My favorite is their slow roasted kalua pig. The right amount of juiciness and saltiness. Next fave has to be the Shoyu Chicken. Again, 808's ability to marinade the meat and then cook it to just the right temperature, is an absolute work of art. I tried the teriyaki beef for the first time, excellent flavor, with wonderful bites of marinated steak. The mac salad is second to none, please may I have another scoop! The folks that run the cart are very friendly and gracious. If you're in the mood, take your food next door and enjoy with a delicious Gigantic Brewing beer.

This cart is located right by my work so I've gone here many time for lunch. I usually place my order online and it's always been ready at the time they provide. Everyone here as a smile on their face and the food is incredible. I always get the shoyu chicken with rice and mac salad. The chicken is so soft and melts in your mouth. I add soy sauce and habanero teriyaki and it brings it to another level. The prices are fair and the portions are huge. One portion will last me two, even three days. I should really branch out and try something else because I'm sure it'll be just as delicious!

We've been here a handful of times and I'm finally writing the review. The truck is in good condition with no observed issues. It's located right next to Gigantic Brewing- bonus. There are multiple tables outside, some covered. Online ordering is easy and streamlined. We ordered the kalua pig, rainbow poke and Teriyaki Beef. Waited a reasonable amount of time and headed home. The kalua pig was tender, well seasoned and just plain delicious! The Teriyaki Beef was well marinated and tender. The rainbow poke was bigger than expected and tasted fresh. The pork and beef dishes were both BIG and we had a fair amount of leftovers. The rice and macaroni salad were great accompaniments and tasted great. They offer a handful of different sauces both what you'd expect and original. Great spot, and we'll continue to come here for some of the best Hawaiian food from a food truck we've found.

Yes. Just yes.I long for Hawaiian food, because of 3 things that often tell you it's a good meal.Taste, that authentic consistent taste you want where, "oh yeah, I've tried that before and this is exactly how it tastes"Portion, Hawaiians know, they know we need our big portions to bulk up/get full/ and be satisfied to go in a food comaPrice, I'm not saying it should be cheap, I'm saying it should balance out to that portion size. It shouldn't be ridiculous either because I don't think comfort food should deter people away. So yes. I love this place cause it does all those 3 things right. I got the chicken combo, love it. Loved the extra sauces. I also tried the kalbi and also satisfying. The meat comes off the bones and chewable just right. The Mac? Phenomenal. I also love the bedding of salad under that soaks all my sauces. Probably my fav comfort food spot in Portland rn.

Ordered the Kalua Pig and 808 Fried Chicken! It was absolutely delicious. With ordering one plate, I loved how it was enough for leftovers or for two people. Their portions are generous for a good price! You can also choose a variety of sauces they have, such as spicy mayo, ginger soy, teriyaki, and more!

The portions are huge. I love that they don't skimp on the rice and mac salad. The food was just too salty for my tastes. The service was great. I ordered Da Combo, half Shoyu and half Kalua Pig. The meats were tender and juicy. The rice was perfectly cooked and the mac salad was tasty. I just wish the meat wasn't so darn salty. Maybe it was just a bad day. I want to love this place. I will try it again and hope for less salt.

Amazing Hawaiian food! I lived on Oahu for 8 years. Their food is an elevated L&L Hawaiian restaurant. Favorites are the teriyaki chicken, pulled pork, Mac salad and Ube pie, so ono! Service is pretty quick when you order & pay ahead. Very friendly people. In my opinion, the Hillsboro location is my favorite. They have a bigger selection than the food truck in Portland, but they can get pretty packed at times. I haven't been to the Beaverton restaurant. In the summer they have had live Hawaiian music outside, brings me back to my younger days!
