The cutest shop ever! We stumbled upon this little shop while on the way to eat. They had such cute little goodies that you can purchase for yourself or make great gifts for people (which is what we did(: ) They had really cute pins, stickers, button pins, etc. The lady at the register was very welcoming and quick with checking us out. My family loved the little gifts that I purchased for them from Portage Bay Goods!

This place gets me. As soon as I walked in, I wanted to buy everything I saw. It is such a great place for gifts. They have beautiful cards, puzzles, pins, art prints, earrings, tote bags, and so much more. They also have cute postcards/magnets/stickers based around Seattle if you're looking for a pretty souvenir. It was soooo much fun to browse and buy. I want to come back for sure. They also support lots of local artists. What's not to love!

An adorable little store in Fremont that offers unique gifts and Seattle-centric merchandise for people of all ages.We originally stopped in after perusing their window displays that featured creative puzzles of Seattle, and we knew we had to buy one. While in there, we were awestruck with the pins, stickers, and other tchotchke items that were available, but it was probably good that we had limited room in our luggage, or we might have gone a little crazy. The holidays are right around the corner, and in an effort to support great local spots this season, friends and family are gonna be receiving quite a few gifts from this place! The business is taking COVID procedures seriously, enforcing the mask rule, has lots of hand sanitizer, and encourages social distancing. Will for sure be back!

I live up the street and needed a gift wrapped for a birthday party. I was happy to find out when I called ahead that not only do they sell gift wrap but they will also wrap it for you! It was 3.50 for the gift wrap- still cheaper than going to target and buying a roll and ribbon that I would have to store in my tiny apt.

Oh my gosh this is a crazy cute shop with so many unique items!! We bought 7 things but could have easily purchased a dozen others if we weren't hopping on a plane later today. My favorite things were the funny patches, magnets and coasters. I adore my new coaster!! So many novel Seattle souvenirs- stuff that is so much better than you will find at the airport gift shop. Definitely stop by if you are in town.

Upscale gift shop featuring premium goods and local artists, quirky and off-beat. Great kid and baby section, as well as large assortment of letterpress cards for all occasions from independent designers. Prices are higher end, picked up a baby card ($5), a pair of leather Robeez ($26) and a gift bag ($6) for a baby shower. Highly curated selection with price points to match.

I dropped by here to grab a card and a silly little knick-knack. This is probably the first modern little knick-knack shop I ever went to, at an earlier location in the same neighborhood. It was interesting to return after all of these years, now that modern little knick-knack shops are everywhere. By modern little knick-knack shop, I mean the ones that have stuff that makes you go "Oh, how cute" or "Oh, how funny" and are mostly drawing from a few wells--things with cats on them, or things with unicorns or zombies on them, or things that make jokes about T-rex having short arms, or coasters picturing a happy-looking idyllic 50's housewife who is making a joke about vodka or about killing her husband...you know, that kind of stuff. Seriously, people who design these sorts of things really need to get more creative and not just copy each other or ride the coattails of the flavor of the month right into the ground (yay, mixed metaphors).I found a couple of things but it was more of a struggle than I expected, perhaps because my heart just wasn't in it. The things in these stores are from such a narrow range of the pop culture/humor spectrum that you almost ache to find something that just carries a simple sentiment. Even so, I bought a magnet with a squid and a whale that made me think, "Oh, how cute! How funny!" So, I guess I'm hoisted by my own petard. Sigh. I also bought two cards that were far more mild mannered than the other thousand cards there.I will say that they have quite a lot of kids stuff, but I'm a childless adult and I didn't browse in that section. The cashier was very gracious--she politely rang me up and didn't react to my grumpy attitude. She deserves a raise.

I didn't think there was a top notch stationery store in Seattle, but I was wrong! Now, you may be thinking of Paper Luxe, but you have to pay an arm and a leg at Paper Luxe for a card worth buying. At Portage Bay Goods, they only charge an arm. Kidding but also not kidding? Stationery is an expensive hobby, but the prices are a bit higher here compared to other big city independent stationery/gift stores I've seen in the last six months. I'm only talking $1-$1.5 difference, but when specialty cards usually start at $4-$5, that's a 20% price difference. Do with what you will. I still love to pick up some stationery everywhere I go, and Portage Bay Goods has a fantastic collection. The cards are fairly diverse in style and sense of humor, along with a nice array of cute and endearing cards. If you're looking for serious cards / letterpress / wedding-style paper, this is probably not the place for you (go check out Pike Street Letterpress!), but this is a great one-stop shop for all other stationery lovers.

What a nice surprise in Fremont, WA. I am a stationary fanatic and I found Portage Bay Goods to have very unique stationeries that I have not seen anywhere else. Overall I would say prices are reasonable, I'm leaving as a happy customer.
