Portage Bay Cafe - 65th

We made a reservation as a party of 2 at 9:30 this morning. Portage Bay Cafe at 9:30 AM is a chill place to be-the ambiance was so nice. It was a great way to wake up. I ordered the Mushroom Benedict and it was so good. I've always been a big fan of how Portage Bay does their potatoes, and their hollandaise with the mushrooms was perfect. They nailed the eggs and it was a generous but not too big portion. We really enjoyed the hot sauce they provided, specifically the red one. Definitely worth the stop!

So many people had recommended these restaurants and finally made it to this location. Wow, can't believe I waited so long it was delicious! Make a reservation or you'll likely be waiting a while on a weekend and be sure to show up at the right location. (Saw others who didn't) We tried the Seattle Benedict and French toast which were both sooo good. With the French toast you get to walk up and put your own toppings on - everything was super fresh and tasty. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

I came here with my boyfriend since it's down the street from where he lives. He made a reservation for the both of us since he knows how hectic Sunday brunch can be, especially at this location! However, we scheduled our reservation for around 10:30 AM, and we weren't seated for around 20 minutes. Made me wonder what the point of having a reservation system is if they don't actually hold tables for the explicit purpose of handing over to patrons who bothered to make reservations... I have no doubt that we would've had to wait even longer if we didn't make a reservation, though.The self serve fruit bar is the most appealing thing about this brunch spot, but it doesn't come with most of this restaurant's items and neither of us decided to spend extra money to go up and grab fruit for ourselves. My BLTA sandwich was alright, some of the breakfast potatoes didn't seem fully cooked through but they were seasoned very well. My boyfriend ordered the Dungeness Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, and he liked it (even though this location is on the pricey side). This place gets pretty hectic and the interior is cramped/has little space in between the chairs so service wasn't super personalized or stellar, but we did get our waters topped off pretty frequently which I appreciated. This location is likely up the alley for typical Seattle hipsters, but I don't think I would order a sandwich the next time I come here. I'd probably try to split one of their specialty items (the Swedish pancakes, for example...?)

Good food and good service!! Loved the toppings bar here. I got the pancakes which were delicious (but a little heavy). My friends loved their dishes too!!Would come here again (and hope to go to the SLU location soon)!!

My wife and I are in town for a few days and needed to find a breakfast spot. We found that this had i think 3 locations and didn't have to drive into downtown and deal with parking. We made reservations online and they only had high tops available. I hate them but we were hungry lol. We parked on the street in front and walked in. We were seated immediately. Now the high tops are behind the bar and it's super tight. People are constantly walking and two people can't walk by at the same time. So honestly there shouldn't be high tops there at all! My waitress was nice but not very attentive. She was extremely rude to one of the employees who gave water and bussed the tables. So that pissed me off. We ordered the blueberry mimosa which was way too much blueberry and made it tart. I ordered the crab cake Benedict which was delicious but had to ask for more hollandise sauce, because the ratio was off. My wife ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was amazing. The bread was the secret. Had to wait a while for the check also.

I spent the new years morning having breakfast here with my daughters. I tried to make a reservation but somehow the website wasn't really accurate in terms of the seat available because the place looked empty, compared to other days. In any case, I decided to just ask if they have any seats available and was seated and had a nice breakfast. Our server Dallana was very attentive, friendly and just amazing to say the least. The food is average to be honest and a bit overpriced. Overall, if you haven't been there, you should give it a try. Thank you Dallana!

I ordered the Bananas Foster French Toast and loaded it with berries. This is the most delicious French toast I've ever had in my life, the caramel sauce is to die for.My friends got the Rancher's Breakfast and the goat cheese sandwich and they loved those as well.Definitely recommend!

The best French toast I ever had & I'm not even a French toast/pancake person!!! I've taken all my family and friends here just for that and they all had great things to say about this place.

First time here on a Saturday around 11. We did not have a reservation. The hostess staff was ok. We were seated at the kitchen bar - it was not a great spot. I would wait for a table next time. Our server, Bethany was upbeat and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the specials of day: lychee mimosa and the torero omelette.The omelette was outstanding. Great flavor and spicy but not overwhelming. The potatoes were crispy and creamy delish.I give a 4 star vs 5 since we only tried one dish, the seating staff seemed confused and the kitchen bar table was ok.
