Porkyland Mexican Grill- Torrey Hills

Located right in the center of the Torrey Hills plaza, Porkyland Mexican Grill has your traditional Mexican offerings ready for quick and easy pick-up or dine-in!- PARKING -Lots of parking space in the plaza, was not a problem finding a spot!- SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT -There's seating inside the restaurant, as well as outside in the courtyard. It was a nice day so we opted to sit outside, but just be mindful to listen for your name/order number! After we ordered, it didn't take more than 15 minutes for our food to come out. - FOOD -Tacos: We got a variety of tacos because we wanted to try different proteins. All tacos were stacked with a good portion of meat! Our favorites were the Al Paster, Battered Fish and the Carne Asada.Flamin Hot Cheetos Cali Burrito: A fun twist to your typical California Burrito! I will say the cheetos did seem a bit stale, so it only gave the kick of the cheetos rather the crunch. Still a delicious item!- OVERALL -A great spot to get Mexican food quick and easy!

Not quite sure why it's called Porkyland. It's not like it focuses on pork products or carnitas. Is it just because they know we like bacon? Anyway, perfectly adequate Mexican food. Maybe the name just raises my hopes that it'll be a little bit better. If you're in the shopping complex, it's a better option than Starbucks or Subway.

The Taco Tuesday deal we came for was not valid until noon, it was 11:45am. They wouldn't honor the two for one taco deal advertised on a big board behind the register. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and it was tiny, approximately 6" long and 2 " wide and it was over $10! The salsa was advertised as muy hot, but it wasn't hot at all. Must be "gringo hot " salsa because it was mild. Overall, this place was some of the worst Mexican food in San Diego.

Came to this spot to charge the car. In front of the Tesla super chargers was a sign saying that they'll give you a 10% discount while you charge. Great! So that's partly why we decided to eat here. They Did not honor the Tesla supercharger discount. California burrito (4): decent burrito. But not too big and pricey. California burrito bowl (5): solid. Good mix of ingredients that blended well. Not low carb though due to the rice if that's what you were hoping for but it was a good bowl. Rolled tacos (4): good. Standard. Crunchy. Bean and cheese burrito (4): good. Standard. Spicy Salsa was good. Chips were stale. Service friendly but did not honor discount on their own sign. Tables were sticky. Bathroom floors greasy and slippery and out of seat covers. Overall, solid 4 star establishment docked 1 star due to their blatant false advertising.

The rolled tacos with the green salsa are very good. I also really like the veggie burrito. Their guacamole is the real deal. The service is good. Quick to take your order. They prepare the food after you order, so it takes a bit of time. You need to ask for the salsa.

Edible but generic and not worth driving far for. Probably an off day. But lacking the taste of cooked food. Taste like microwaved disappointment

Office catered. I honestly liked this and surprised its not ranked higher.Tacos 8.5/10: made a beef and chicken taco. Well seasoned. Hot sauce was good and the spice level was just enough to make it hot. I think the key was the tortilla. Pretty sure they make their own so makes sense.Hot sauce 8.5/10: mild was good and wasnt bland like most mild sauces are. Hot had just enough heat also good flavor. Rice 7/10: standardBeans 7/10: standard

My go to place first time not up to usual 4 star.Take out med beans, burritos carnitas, special burrito (carnitas, chile relleno, rice), bag of chips. Incorrect order - med. beans were med. rice. Ha no need for chips. Special burrito had abundance of rice, small chile relleno w hardly any cheese, and small amount of the carnitas.

You need to improve the food I gave your guys a one star. Worse burrito I ever ate I ordered a carne asada burrito and it was nothing but beans this is not right

Huge bone in carnitas burrito today 11/15/23. Food is complete toss up on what you get. Some days good, other days I can't even finish the food. Unfortunately this isn't the first time I've found a bones in my food from this location. Firstly in a carne asada burrito, second in California (also carne asada), now carnitas. I was starting to joke with my girlfriend that I'm running out of things to order here, but after this I don't think I want to take another chance. I mean just look at the bone, it looks like a mushroom, how is that from pork?!?!
