This is one of my favorite Mexican places! The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because I wish they would have more vegetarian options. Their tacos are delicious, our favorites are the shrimp and the veggie one, and my kids love their California burrito. Their ceviche is also good, but our absolute favorite is the churros and ice cream.We have been here during the weekend and it can get very busy, but their service has always been great and we don't mind waiting for the food with their complimentary chips and salsa.

Save your money and go to your local taco shop instead. Nothing like the original Ponce's location, which I love and have been frequenting for years.Food was honestly inedible and gross. I ordered the quesadilla suprema. The cheese wasn't even melted and it came out slightly cold. Supposed to be "crispy", but was soggy instead. Service wasn't great either.Drinks were good and fairly priced, but not enough to come back again.

Tried this Mexican restaurant in delsur area. From outside I thought it will be a fine dining, elevated Mexican cuisine but it was a pretty basic restaurant from inside.Got free chips and salsa, salsa can be little better. I tried vegan crunchy taco from lunch menu, rolled tacos and Friday special drink which I think was little over price.Food overall is very basic, I have had good tacos outside, staff was friendly.

We came here for lunch on a Saturday. I was again leery about this place because of the 3.5 stars, but surprisingly it wasn't bad. It's a great atmosphere, I think they need more TV's to make it more enjoyable at night. They have a good looking bar area and spacious dining and patio area. Like everything else around you would think a Mexican food with be cheaper but it isn't, it's expensive. Being that we came here for lunch, our food came pretty quickly and it was fairly good. The service was good. The only complaint I have is that the salsa was as subpar. I had to add more salt to make it decent. Overall a positive dining experience

When we arrived, we sat out in the patio and received some complimentary chips, salsa, and spicy carrots shortly afterwards. I like that we got both the red and green salsas!We shared the queso dip, which came with more chips! It was a nice day out, so we opted for the "make your own margarita." You pick your tequila, style (house, skinny, cadillac, or frutas, and enjoy! I opted for the strawberry, while my friend ordered the mango one. The drinks were the last to come out, but were pretty and frozen! For food, we shared the shrimp ceviche, tostada, chile relleno, a shrimp taco, and fish taco that came with rice and beans. The entrees were huge and came with so much food. The chile relleno was not stuffed, like how it usually is and the tostada had a lot of toppings.The tacos were okay.Overall, the food was very Americanized and not authentic, but service was excellent. We were checked up on a lot!

My friend and I were doing a quick errand run at Target when he mentioned we should get Ponce's for dinner. I had only had it one other time months prior when we ordered in. This time we were greeted upon entering the restaurant and I really liked how nice and bright the place was. We were seated and given menus and we saw that they had a special deal when the Padres were playing! They have $6 carne asada fries, nachos, beer, and house margarita. It was really cool to see this deal and so we decided to each get an order of carne asada fries. When you dine in they bring out complimentary chips and salsa and there is seriously something so fun about nice warm tortilla chips. The food also came out really quickly and although the portion may seem small, do not be fooled! I kept eating my meal and it seemed like I was barely making a dent. Needless to say, we took almost half of my order to-go so he could have it the next day. I look forward to our next trip to Ponce's!!

Went here for dinner with my family on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded. The servers were very nice. The food is just ok. This was our third time here and the food wasn't as good as before. My husband ordered a shrimp house special dish and it was too watery. He wasn't happy about it. It made everything soggy.

I'll start off and say that the service was great and they were attentive to our table. Food wise, the birria was okay, not super flavorful but I enjoyed the consommé. The veggie beans (not refried) did not have any flavor at all. I added lime juice, consommé, cilantro, and onion to add some flavor. Overall, I didn't mind this dish, but the rest of the table were barely able to finish their food as the flavors were off and did not make them feel good. My husband got the California burrito and felt that way, especially with how much sour cream and guacamole there was in there. He personally gave the restaurant a 2/5 due to the most basic Mexican food flavors missing.

Slightly above average - order enchiladas suiza which was pretty tasty. Chicken chimichanga had 75% guacamole and only 25% chicken. Batch of chips tasted burnt.Server never proactively checked in - we had to call him over to get any refills.Industrial decor - music was half reggae and half rap. Clearly an identity crisis here - it's a Mexican restaurant.Much better choices elsewhere.
