My girlfriend, grandmother, and I dined here last night, and it was a nightmare. We had a reservation at 6:15 PM, but I left vowing never to return. We felt disrespected, violated, and traumatized. Our server, Santos, immediately gave us a bad vibe. He was overly fixated on my girlfriend and grandmother, barely acknowledging me, the only male at the table. His behavior crossed the line when he physically touched and leaned on my girlfriend while setting down oil and vinegar. This was intrusive and unacceptable--servers should never touch their customers, especially when there's no need. My girlfriend felt trapped and uncomfortable, but we couldn't find a manager to address the situation. Santos abused his position, knowing he could get away with it. If he did this to my girlfriend, how many others has he touched? His disrespect towards me was blatant. At the end of the meal, he brought plates and forks for my girlfriend and grandmother but did not give me a plate at all. Instead, he just gave me a fork and put it on the dirty table. When it came time to pay, he ignored me, handing the check only to my girlfriend, despite seeing my card out.I called to speak with the manager that night, but was told he wasn't available and would call me the next day. That call never came. I am furious with this place and will warn others to stay away unless they want their wives or girlfriends groped while they can't even get a clean plate to eat from.

Meh. Neither above nor below my notice. Neither good nor bad. Average 2.5 stars.Waiter with a bad wig was the most interesting part of dinner. Crying baby ruined the experience for the Al Fresco diners.

Dined here for the first time on valentines. My husband made a reservation in advance. We were surprised to show up and see a large line of people who mostly said they had reservations as well. As a past server I get that busy nights can get overwhelming at times but the disorganization of this place was honestly kind of ridiculous. The hostess was calling out "does anyone have a reservation for 2?" And then would take them to sit without verifying their reservation. Also I saw some tables receiving tulips and some not etc.Service was okay. Not bad but just ok. Complimentary bread was served room temp. I don't know if they make the bread or if it's brought in - but whoever makes it need to add more salt to their dough. It's very bland. I personally didn't care for the marinara and thought it would've been better served with butter.Cesar salad was mediocre. I wanted to try it because it said homemade dressing but I felt the dressing was very underwhelming and lacking flavor. The calamari fritti was okay. Some of the calamari were slightly over cooked and chewy. The marinara was too overpowering of a sauce for the calamari and zucchini. The portobello ravioli aka mushroom ravioli was good but under seasoned. The lasagna was good. My husband enjoyed it. Overall I felt the food was mostly under seasoned and kind of just ok. I personally didn't find it good enough to go back.

Everything about this darling neighborhood spot in Point Loma just makes you feel GOOD. From the heavenly pastas to the crunchy salads (you'll lick the bowl after the last bite of Pierina) to the way the whole restaurant joins in for a birthday song, this place just feels like home. But like,Home with an Italian Chef on hand. Portions are big. Service is lovely. Ambiance is low light, cozy, comfortable. You'll want it to be a regular spot because there are too many delicious items to try.

Highly recommend this small Italian spot. We stopped after work- 5:30 Thursday, did not have to wait. Next time will make rez to be safe though. We by the tiny kitchen & enjoyed the wonderful smells, watching steaming plates going out quickly. These guys work hard. Our service was good but not fussy. Excellent calamari appetizer with a light batter, best we've had for awhile & the zucchini in it was surprisingly good. Lasagna was good, not fab. Pappardelle with mushrooms & lamb was good too, but I would prefer this dish with a mushroom cream sauce, not marinara. The "three flavors" salad was wonderful as was the crusty bread served up front. The rating would be 5 stars if I felt like they made their own pasta... We will visit again & try veal scallopini & mushroom ravioli plus another type salad. MANY choices and please note REASONABLE prices. Pretty sure locals are keeping this place a secret.

If you like a quiet place to eat and talk, come here early. We arrived around 1730 but by 1815 it got busy and loud. The food here is delicious. We ordered the caprese appetizer which was fresh and yummy. I had the mushroom ravioli for the main course and my friend ordered a pasta dish. The ravioli was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Service was excellent and people very friendly. This is definitely my go-to Italian place when visiting Sam Diego.

We came here for dinner before heading to a concert at Humphrey's. It was still very early and we were the only other couple there, so it was very quiet and a bit more intimate. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Started off with some wine and Calamari Fritti, which was very good, not tough like some places. For our entree, my husband opted for the Pappardelle since the lamb shank, one of the specials, was not ready and took some time to prepare. I went with the Linguine di Mare w/ the white wine sauce, everything was cooked perfectly. They brought me a bowl on the side for my shells, which I appreciated. The portion's were huge so we ended up taking home leftovers, which were still good the next day. Looking forward to our next visit and exploring more of the menu.

Good Italian dinner here in this restaurant, if you are gluten-free, then there's not as many options. Since I am gluten-free and have loved as a lobster raviolis, we haven't been back in a while.

It's ok, not great. I actually feel it used to better but the last few times I've been the food has been mediocre at best. It's in a cool spot by shelter island and we go there because they accommodate larger groups (8-10). I've tried many things on the menu and it's all pretty lack luster. For example I just tried the spaghetti carbonara and the pancetta was grossly undercooked, the dish was very oily, and there were large pieces of onion in the dish which was confusing as it was off putting. This experience with the food is now unfortunately the norm with this place.

I have been coming here for years, but not on a regular basis, otherwise I would weigh 500 pounds!Benjamin is the chef that makes the magic happen in the kitchen.I have never been disappointed, nor have my dinner or lunch companions.I do suggest a bottle of wine, however, as everything is made fresh, so you may have to wait. They bring out a hot loaf of bread with a red sauce, but you can ask for balsamic vinegar or butter. They have numerous choices for dessert and quite the wine list. One thing - the lovely wallpaper is gone, which was very European and quaint, but it does not change the delicious meal!
