Pomodoro Restaurant & Bar

We stopped in for lunch because we've walked by so many times saying "we should try it one day". So we did. We have noticed that there are a number of regulars (we've seen the same folks time and time again). We were seated quickly and able to order just as quickly. We settled in calamari for an app and the meatball sandwich with the Tuscan minestrone and portobello ravioli. The cup of minestrone and a basket of bread arrived immediately. The minestrone was very flavorful and piping hot. The calamari arrived soon after. I really appreciated that it was light and not oily. The batter was well seasoned too. We were surprised by the fried(?) salted noodles as a base but they were a tasty and crunchy diversion. The entrees were a great lunch size. The ravioli was very good. The meatballs on the sandwich were fantastic. It was certainly more filling than the ravioli (bread, amiright?). Service was on point as I was offered a refill as soon as my glass was empty. Nice charming Italian eatery in the Proctor District. Got the window seat which is prime for people watching and in Washington, you just never know what you are going to see. I ordered the very good Spaghetti and Meatballs with meat sauce which comes with a Super Salad or so I thought.... Was a little disappointed it ended up being soup or salad. J/k.... Nevertheless I ordered the Homemade Chicken Noodle soup and it was piping hot and delicious. Received good service as well.... Seems like a good place to take your wife on a date..... give this place a try

Good place. Even if we didn't make reservations they let us in. We really enjoyed. Great neighborhood.

Best Italian Food around! Love everything about this place! I suggest the Prawns Milano. Simply delicious!!!

Came here to meet up with friends that live in town. We had never been here before and were pleasantly surprised with our dining experience. Very friendly staff. Food was great. Portions are large. So if you are not super hungry, the meal is shareable. The place was cute and reminded me of a place close to where we live. A nice neighborhood restaurant with good food.

Great neighborhood joint with wonderful staff. The food is rich, so don't overdo order but it's excellent! We reallyLove have such great neighborhood places!

Nice small neighborhood restaurant in the Proctor District with inside and outside seating. Charming decor. Looks like a neighborhood favorite. Service was friendly and efficient.Food was tasty, not the best I've had but definitely okay. Bread with the caprese salad was excellent.

I've been to Pomodoro several times and the food is always great! I usually get the spaghetti with meat sauce, since it's so good! The flavor of the sauce is delicious and I look forward to the leftovers (since they serve a large portion). My husband always orders the Chicken Parm, since we are both creatures of habit. The Chicken Parm is one of the best in town. Again, another large portion, so you can have tasty leftovers. The side salads are just a basic salad with your standard dressings offered. Service has always been great for us, but I do recommend reservations as they are full on the weekends.

The ambiance, the food and the service are Bella Mia, Superb. From a simple spaghetti Marinara, to the more specialized dishes, always pravisimo. Special orders are also no problem, if you have a picky eater. Noodles no sauce, noodles and katchup. How is that for service.

I've been a fan of Pomodoro for a number of years. My favorite dish is their weekend special Potato Chip encrusted Halibut . It's noisy in there, it bothers a lot of people, not me.
