This food truck was parked in my work plaza in Bothell yesterday so I decided to try it out. It is nice that they have their schedule posted on the front of the truck to let people know their whereabouts. Because the poke bowl looked expensive, I opted for the Garlic Chicken Bowl. I paid $12.10 for it. It came with chicken, 2 scoops of rice and a good serving of mac salad. It looks like they prep their chicken ahead of time and just scoop it into the container when it's ordered. My first bite into the chicken was cold. The next couple bites of chicken were lukewarm. There was more breading on the chicken than actual chicken. The flavor of it was good. But I wish the dish had been served hot and not cold/lukewarm. I find this truck to be on the pricier side.

Sam Choy's Poke to Da Max reminds me of Hawaii. Being from the islands, I really wanted to like this place. But there are just some glaring mistakes I couldn't afford to overlook.I ordered the spicy ahi bowl, white rice with the spicy aioli sauce. It comes with two scoops of rice, one large scoop of poke, and one scoop of seaweed salad. The seaweed salad was different from any I've ever tasted, it was delicious. The flavor of the poke was sooo ono, this was that reminded me of Hawaii.Mistake one, was a piece of slighty curly hair I found in my rice. Disgusting. The workers should be wearing hairnets or something.Mistake two, was low quality fish they offered. A majority of the poke I was given was sinewy and tough. It was not a cube of poke that would just melt in your mouth. This food truck really needs to step up their game. It really reflects badly on the islands. So in summary, food tasted delicious, but quality was something left desired.Food 3/5

The same great poke as the spot in San Bruno but in truck form! As I've noted on their brick and mortar, Sam Choy's two joints (and the Takahashi Market in San Mateo) are the only places in the bay area with real poke. Not your fast casual office lunch type spots. But I mean real poke, with limu. It's so much better. And yeah, they charge you 50% more than in Hawaii but when you consider what you're saving on airfare, it's not a bad deal I guess.

Poke is a pretty big thing here in the Seattle area so I am glad we have somewhere to go with great fresh quality fish. I have been to this food truck a few times because it stops near my work at another business building nearby. I appreciate that they come out to the east side since I do not live by their restaurant. Sometimes for a few seconds I wonder what the conditions are inside of a food truck when I see one. I especially have been curious to how food stays so fresh on truck but I also trust this never would be a thing if health inspectors didn't approve.Their menu has great variety. There are several things I want to try each time I see it. Of course the menu is even bigger in the restaurant but a food truck with a variety on its menu always is a huge plus for me.The first time I went I ordered multiple things. I am a sucker for spam musubi so of course I tried the reconstructed musubi. This is always a must order for me. It is definitely not the easiest thing to eat and I would like much smaller pieces to bite into but the flavor is great! I guess now that I think about it, I could probably ask them to cut it into 8 pieces instead of 4. If you have a small bite, you may want to do that too. I even saved it in the fridge one time and it was not the same texture when you warmed it up but it had the same flavor and was still good to me.I also tried the Poke Sandwich Wrap with salmon. I guess the first thing I would say about this item is, do not go into it thinking it is going to come out like a sushi burrito. It definitely is a wrap. I was not a fan of it but my friend liked it.The trucks design and color is fun and festive. Brings you those hawaiian vibes. The lines can sometimes be long, but it is worth the wait. They are organized and the line moves at a decent speed.

I probably would've been happier with poke... but alas, when the food truck sign said "korean fried chicken", I said yes. I was hoping it would be spicy but it was not. It also just felt dry and not very flavorful in general. Decent sized portions for the rice and mac. I might try something else from the truck someday but wouldn't order the chicken again.

Solid food truck poke bowls and sides!Got the Ahi Tuna poke bowl (Ends up being $17+ with tax). Small poke pieces, fine quality. They didn't put any sauces on the top so I had to ask (they added a spicy mayo and shoyu drizzle which were great). The sides are what did it for me. The mac salad is creamy and delicious, the furikake rice was fluffy, and the seaweed salad portion was perfectly seasoned and generous. They also had kahlua pork, crispy garlic chicken, and tofu as protein options.

Tried the salmon poke rice bowl, honestly I feel ripped off. Over $18 for a puny amount of salmon, huge portions of white rice and seaweed salad (which are dirt cheap). The salmon itself was excellent, I added the wasabi sauce which I assume is some kind of aioli. This by far was the best thing on the bowl, I wish there was more for $18 (did I mention the cost yet?). I've had seaweed salad many places and always loved it, but found it gross here. It has a very fishy "taste of the sea" to it that I did not like. I know this sounds ironic but no other seaweed salad has tasted this way. The white rice tasted really plain, I could see the furikake but didn't really taste it.

Tastes pretty good but honestly the portion sizes are ridiculously small for the price. $18 poke plate and maybe half a cup of actual fish? I seriously thought they forgot to even add poke when I opened the box it felt like I spent $18 on just rice and lettuce.

Old fish. Ate a few bites to be sure, but we got old fish. It was pretty obvious from the other review photos, but ours was brown and extremely off smelling.Don't go here for poke unless you're a major risk taker.
