Ordered pickup and it was on time but they forgot my sauce and the rice was overcooked. Pretty flavorless in my opinion. Maybe I'll try dine in next time to see if maybe it's better.

Delicious poke, 4.5 stars. This is a newer poke place and will likely be my go to. I built my own bowl with 3 proteins. I was pretty excited for this options, because usually when you want more than 3 proteins you have to pay extra. I fully expected a very small portion of the fish, but they did not skimp on the fish or any other ingredient. They are very generous in making their bowls, and it is very much appreciated. Only knocked half a star off because though the sauces are delicious, there is a lot of it. I will know to ask for light sauce next time, but I will definitely be back.

Delicious! Just ordered thru Uber eats. It tasted so fresh. Nice big portion size, and great topping choices. Didn't use too much sauce like in a lot of other poke bowls. I think this will be my new go-to!

Got a Hawaiian bowl. Not bad. The shrimp shumai were decent too. Wife didn't like her sauces in her bowl. Too sweet. And getting it in the side wasn't and option (at least on Uber eats). The ramen though. Not good. Tonkatsu broth could have passed as just salt water. I would yank that off the menu to put some more time into. I am rooting for this place though. Some tweaks I think could make a big difference. Will check back in soon.

I got the build your own poke bowl with 3 proteins. It looks pretty and the flavors were all there, however, the protein was cut into TINY pieces and there was barely any protein in the bowl. The rice was also cold and kind of hard as a result. I expected the rice to be warm or at least room temperature, not tasting like it came out of the fridge.

Got this place twice for lunch and once for dinner. I build my own bowl, and found my perfect bowl. I like how the meat is either 3 or 5 scoops, and they give u the same amount of rice and toppings. I usually get 3 scoops. Fish and toppings are really fresh. Solid spot

Great food -- love the build-a-bowl option! My favorite poke stop in the neighborhood.

Poke Gu is definitely one of the best poke spots in Chicago. The staff are friendly, fish is fresh, and the prices are great. A 3 scoop protein poke bowl is $13.95 and then seaweed salad & crab salad are $1 extra each. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for poke in Lakeview!

Pretty good. The flavors and textures were nice for the most part with the exception of the seaweed salad being way too fishy. The staff was very friendly as well. However, the main issues I have with Poke Gu is that it is a little pricey for what it is. In my opinion all of the best toppings are included at an additional charge of one dollar each despite not being significantly more expensive. Just seems like a bit of a money grab to me. I wouldn't say don't come to this restaurant but definitely be prepared to spend a little extra money for similar poke to other places in the area.
