Umai Bo baked corned snack ($6.95): looks ridiculous but is delicious. Slightly sweet and savory with a pleasing crunch, 10/10!

Great little spot to fulfill that poke craving! I had the salmon spicy mayo and was very satisfied with the quality of the salmon and the flavor of the spicy mayo sauce. I'd recommend grabbing some seaweed salad to pair with the meal!

I saw this place recommended on Instagram so we came here during our San Diego trip. Not busy when we came in, which was good. Food: We got the spicy mayo salmon, shoyu salmon, shoyu tuna, and the shoyu octopus/tako. All the food was kind of hit and miss. I thought that all the salmon and tuna was good but nothing special. The octopus which cost extra, was extremely mediocre. Tastes like boiled octopus in soy sauce.Value: Considering that salmon is 2.50 extra and octopus is 2.70 extra, it is probably better to buy by the pound versus buying a plate. When you order the one scoop rice and one seaweed salad in the poke bowl combo, the scoop of seaweed is so small it's literally the size of those tiny Mcdonald ketchup cups. Seaweed salad isn't even that expensive if you're buying in bulk... like dude I paid $22 for two scoops of fish and a tiny scoop of rice.. least you could do is give a lil more seaweed salad.. If you're coming here, you're better off buying JUST the fish by the pound and making rice at home.Parking is plentiful as it's located in a plaza.Overall, 3.5/5 stars for this place. Not quite sure what the hype here is. I've had better at HFS at Centerpark Labs.

Poke Etc. is hands down my favorite place in San Diego to grab island-style poke. It's also one of my favorite places in general. Whether you're a long-time fan or a first-timer, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My top recommendations are the spicy salmon, tuna shoyu, crispy pork belly (lechon), and the island bento. The quality and freshness here has been consistently great for years, a testament to their commitment to excellence. Poke Etc. also offers a fantastic selection of Asian drinks and literally every flavor of Hawaiian Sun, perfect for washing it down. The staff is always welcoming and friendly, making each visit a pleasure. If you're craving some top-notch poke, Poke Etc. is the place to be!

Amazing quality poke with good sized portions! You can buy it by the pound or have your own combination! They let you choose between rice or seaweed salad for the combos! I was a big fan of the shoyu!

Has absolutely no business being this good, five star spot- way cheaper alternative than going to the islands yourself to get a bite Poke:Spicy mayo tuna 5/5: perfect balance of mayo spicyness and the freshness of the fish, probably the best poke I've ever had Shoyu regular tuna 4.75/5Excellent texture and flavor that tastes most like the fish- no frillsShoyu seaweed tuna 4.5/5Texture could be off putting to some but otherwise similar to the shoyu but with a twist Ambiance: it's a hole in the wall place so good for a quick lunch bite or takeout Pro Tip: I just buy pounds of the actual fish at a time and make the rice at home to make my own bowls as meal prep- gotta max out the protein

Finally had the opportunity to try Poke Etc. SD Hawaiian Restaurant located in National City, CA, after watching videos of many food bloggers talking about how great this restaurant is. There was a blogger who traveled all the way from Los Angeles to try it. Poke Etc., knocked it out of the park with their poke plate. It's hands down some of the best I've had in San Diego!! The tuna & salmon was very fresh. The portions are smaller than your average poke bowl for the price. Our group tried the following plates and give it a 5/5: -Spicy Garlic Tuna (BOMB). -Chicken Katsu -Shoyu Chicken -Salmon poke w/spicy Mayo.-Ohana comboThey have so many food options. The restaurant was nice and clean. I enjoyed the Hawaiian music and decor. The restaurant also sells many Hawaiian food products and some clothing. The employees behind the counter were very welcoming. There's only indoor seating with enough parking. The plaza where restaurant is located at is very old needs renovation and not in the best area, but still looking forward to going back. Give it a try! Happy Yelping :)

I love island-style poke, and it's hard to find outside of Hawaii. Poke Etc. is one of the few island-style poke places in San Diego and probably my favorite out of that list, so it's a surprise I have yet to write about it. Also a shoutout to their combo plates, which I will rave about in this review as well. Inside is decorated in a Hawaiian theme, the service is always very friendly and quick, and the food keeps me coming for more. Spicy garlic: As a garlic lover, I just knew I had to order the spicy garlic. Although it was good, I didn't love it as much as I thought I would. But it's loaded with garlic, the spiciness has a hint of that vinegar flavor. My partner loved this one, so we switched some of our poke. Kali Hawaiian: Mayo...is kind of my guilty pleasure? Not to mention krab meat. It's something that I grew up loving, that creaminess that always satisfies the taste buds. I liked the Kali Hawaiian. It was very creamy, and was basically a California roll sushi in poke form. I loved that this flavor was paired with tuna as well. Limu: I definitely would have gotten the limu flavor over the spicy garlic, but this was what my partner chose. Limu is a specific Hawaiian algae. The poke itself was slightly sweet, but it had that seaweed-y flavor that I love. It was delicious and I would definitely get this flavor again. Now I have to talk about the plates they serve! Ohana combo: This is the first thing I ever ordered from here. It comes with shoyu chicken and the Kalua pork. The soy-sauce flavor in the chicken is not overwhelming. It's a light flavor, which I appreciated. The chicken itself is very moist and big in portion. The Kalua pork is also very juicy and flavorful. Again, big portion sizes and they even allow you to sample some of their poke with the combo meal. Island bento: My partner and I wanted to try this combo, but we definitely prefer the first one. The island bento comes with teriyaki chicken and tonkatsu pork, along with the other components of a combo meal. The chicken is good, but definitely preferred the shoyu chicken over the teriyaki. The tonkatsu was also good, albeit a bit dry since it is fried. This one is great if you're looking for a heftier combo meal! Otherwise, would stick to the other combo.
