Point Break

Late Sunday night, DIL found this place. Very interesting history on back of menu. Good steaks, Mahi & open faced roast beef plate. Great experience! Furball enjoyed it too!Does this area have any BAD places to eat? We haven't found one yet!

Okay, let me first start out by saying that our Waitress/Bartender Kim was FANTASTIC! Nothing but 5 Stars on her service. However, we did not go to Point Break for service. We went for Dinner and to say that it was not good would be an understatement. I went with something simple....Chicken Fried Steak. It was without a doubt the WORST Chicken Fried Steak I have ever had. Whatever grease that it was cooked in left a very bitter taste. The portion was very small and the Gravy was HORRIBLE!We also ordered the Calamari and Artichoke appetizers. They came with some mystery white sauce. The same sauce for both appetizers...... The overall pricing was high for the quality of the meal.I would NOT recommend this restaurant if you are a fan of Chicken Fried Steak. Again, I am only giving them the 1 Star based on the meal that I was served. Maybe the cook was just having a bad night? Would I go again to this restaurant.......NO!

Local favorite. Love to come here and sit in the bar for martini and dinner. Simply the best, I hope it never changes.

I will start off by saying that the food here IS wonderful (amazing breakfast and lunch options). I eat here very regularly not just because of the food though, the service is always to die for. The servers make you feel very welcome and are always helpful. I suggest going and getting one of their sandwiches. They have indoor and outdoor seating available with good music playing. It is NOT luxurious but it is one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. The prices are hard to beat here. Good foods, good moods.

Was looking for a cozy, sit-down breakfast spot and found this cafe near shelter island. We were accommodated for right away and the service throughout our meal was nice and efficient. Wasn't too impressed with the food, but it did the job!

This place is THE GOODS! Shepard's pie, chicken pot pie...hell if they made a horse manure pie, it would be good. And the mozzarella logs? Fugedddaboutit!!! Best food in San Diego! Natasha and the Jersey girl make it all the better. Definitely a hidden spot worth exploring! Cold beers, friendly atmosphere, good music...what else can I say? Go see for yourself!

My favorite thing to do on Sunday morning is get up and go to a dance class and then eat all the calories (and more) back at Point Break. This is a classic spot on the way to Shelter Island and when you step inside you just know you're going to have a top notch diner brunch. Decor is old school. Music is modern. Servers are the best in the land. There is an outdoor patio if you prefer sunshine to wood panel vibes. Dogs are welcome here too which I think just makes it even more perfect. Portions are huge and delicious. Don't forget to order a pancake for the table!

Walked in for a party of 10. Place is small not to suitable for big parties. They have specials..I had a Swiss mushroom burger. Husband had the steak sandwich with onion rings. The food was great.

Another great experience here in Shelter Island, always enjoy Point Break. We came in for b'fast twice, always share an omelette since there is SO much food in one entree. Service is good, personable, even tho we're from AZ, they "know us" becuz we visit so often, even remembers how we swap the omelette ingredients to make it vegetarian! ; )The ambiance is fun, always decorated SO WELL for Halloween, too. Will keep coming as long as it's here!

Stopped in Saturday for lunch before heading out for a harbor cruise. Walked in and immediately found Katherine, who set us up with the perfect tables and room for our expanding group. Our server, Alana, was amazing. She was super attentive and took great care of us. And then, at shift change, Lyndsey stepped in to help and she was wonderful, too.From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked.... well, staggered... out, the service was fantastic. We'll be back!
