My friend and I were walking around the area trying to find a place to eat when we came across this restaurant. Despite being a Friday around 7pm, we were able to get instantly seated with no reservations. There's a variety of seating options which some offer great view of the kitchen to see how the cook is making the food. Service was great! We couldn't decide what we wanted to order and our waitress was patient and kind helping us decide. The Dan Dan Noodles and Dried Fried Chicken which comes with a side of rice are definitely popular items as we saw a lot of other people get them. We also ordered the cucumber which was an excellent refreshing addition while the spice was getting to us. We all agreed this was an excellent choice and will be our go to for Sichuan food if in the area.

This is definitely a more Americanized version of real Sichuan food. If that's what you're looking for then this will do the job, but don't expect anything too authentic. The ambiance is great and the seating is perfect for large groups at a nice space. We ordered family style and got a variety of dishes -- pork dumplings, greens, garlic cucumbers, mapo tofu, dry fried chicken, rice cakes, mushroom tofu fried rice, and sesame noodles. Out of everything I think I liked the sesame noodles and garlic cucumbers the best. Since I have a peanut allergy, it was a bit disheartening to hear that they fry peanuts in the same oil as the other fried food, so a few of the items I couldn't even eat. Not the best place for people with allergies. Service was decent overall, and portion sizes varied per dish -- the appetizers were quite pricey for their size, but some of the entrees were more generous. I probably wouldn't come back, but it was worth trying this time!

Came here on a Sunday evening and there was plenty of seating and finding street parking wasn't too bad. My friend is vegan so we wanted to check this place out and it was really delicious and flavorful! I don't know about you but when I think Sichuan food I think super spicy. There were plenty of non-spicy options and I would say none of the four items we ordered were spicy. We had the spicy eggplant, Chinese greens, mushroom and tofu fried rice, and the grandma potatoes. My favorite was the spicy eggplant though it was served cold (but heating it up for leftovers the next day was *chef's kiss*!) The grandma potatoes was really interesting, almost tastes like mashed potatoes with a chili flavor to it mixed with crunchy mustard greens. It didn't taste Chinese at all so I would say it did not pair well with the rest of the dishes we ordered but still tasty.Overall great place, everything is tapas style and almost everything can be subbed out to make it completely vegan. Overpriced in my opinion but that's characteristic of Seattle I guess!

Tried out Plenty of Clouds during Restaurant Week. We booked a reservation for early dinner on a Friday. We got there around 5PM and it wasn't busy at all but when we left at 7PM it was packed with a line. The Restaurant Week menu consisted of having one small plate, one large plate, and a drink or dessert. We ordered sichuan pork dumplings (small plate), eggplant (small plate), dry fried chicken (large plate) and dan dan noodles (large plate). There was more than enough food to share amongst the two of us. Food came out as it was ready so that was a bit odd. But I think the idea is that it's a family style place. The sichuan pork dumplings were my favorite item out of everything. They were well cooked and not overly covered in sauce. The dry fried chicken was pretty good but I think there were way too many peppers mixed in. I did like that the chicken wasn't too breaded, it was actually very light. The dan dan noodles and eggplant didn't impress me at all. I also ordered a drink since it came with the Restaurant Week deal. It was the Slipper Spritz. I didn't like it all but pushed through to drink it. I'm happy I finally got to try this place but unfortunately I don't think I'll be coming back again.

Food, ambiance, and service was really good. I was able to make a prompt reservation online and seated quickly. Parking is a little difficult, however. Outdoor seating for small groups and open kitchen style restaurant. Food: not blown away traditional Chinese food. It was more aesthetic dishes than traditional. Still really tasty and served family style. Pork Dumplings: really good and easy to share amongst a group. Came in a 6ct I believe. 4/5 stars (because it's not as good as Dough Zone or DTF). Twice-Cooked Pork Belly: really good dish with a lot of flavor and a lot of meat and side of rice. Good sharing dish. 5/5 stars.Dry Fried a chicken: although it was fine and the chili peppers added a nice spice, could've done without. Chicken was too dry and crunchy. Everyone's least favorite dish. 3/5 stars. Dan Dan Noodles: always a go-to anywhere and plenty of clouds delivered. It's a smaller portion than the entrees provided but it was enough to split amongst three people. 5/5 stars. I would return soon and try more dishes.

Yum. This place is great. And a wonderful place to host a work dinner or group event. Very accommodating for a large group.

What a great experience! We walked in and the person who greeted us also suggested a menu. It all sounded good and we had one vegan guest so we just over ordered intentionally. So glad we did. The meat dishes (pictured) were addictive. The chicken looks spicier than it is, unless you want to eat the chilies. We had so many vegan dishes that were fantastic. If you want spicy vegan Chinese food, this is your place.

Our party of 4 walked in on a Friday around 7 and we were fortunate enough to be offered a table with a 50 min time limit. Despite having no reservation, the gal on the greet staff was super sweet and was able to accommodate our group - I really appreciated the transparency!SHRIMP FRIED RICE (5/5)Our favorite dish by far. It's unfair to compare to din tai fung because Plenty of Clouds isn't exactly cookie cutter traditional, but the fried rice here was definitely the most memorable.CUMIN LAMB (4/5)The crispy, chewy mochi nuggets were bomb. Honestly, I'd order those as a side alone. The lamb was good, nothing out of this world. SPICY PORK DUMPLINGS (5/5)Cannot go wrong here, these are crowd pleasers across the board. Size wise, they're pretty hefty and generous. Loved them!DAN DAN NOODLES (3/5)Don't get it twisted, I love sichuan and mala spice that gives off that numbing mouthfeel... but there was a sourness from the pickled green beans that I personally didn't think complemented the meat. The noodles were also heaping generous, but honestly we had leftovers of this and boxed it to go.TWICE COOKED PORK BELLY (3/5)You know how orange chicken is crispy fried chicken after it's tossed in sugary caramelized orange sauce? My dilemma here is I think the sauce de-texturizes the pork belly and it loses any sense of crisp. It was sure tasty, but felt so unnecessarily sticky and oily. A bit too heavy for my taste. Out of the drinks, my favorite by far was It's Not a Turmeric because it was as unique as it was delicious. I also liked Earnest Meets East because it was funky and fun, I couldn't put my finger on what it tasted like.Overall, food and atmosphere was great! We will be back.

Went for valentines day dinner late evening and was welcomed by very friendly staff followed by great recommendations and food & drinks. They had a special valentines menu for apps and drinks, which i ended up ordering a drink from. We got two mains and one app so share: dry fried chicken was absolutely bomb. Not too spicy as long as you avoid chewing on the full peppers. Sesame noodle smelled amazing and tasted really good but cooled down a bit quickly so towards the end it was very cold (also we were seated by the window and they were closing so they had the door open to bring in patio furnitures). And cucumber salad was delicious! Perfectly crunchy, sour, sweet and salty with a hint of spicy. I got their Red Panda cocktail which has soju, baiju and campari (it was like an asian amf) but it was so yummy and i enjoyed it a lot.

This spot was recommended to me and it's a really cute modern Szechuan spot in cap hill. The decor and ambiance are really fun and the hostess was super nice and friendly. The dry fry chicken and sesame noodles were good, and the grandma potatoes were interesting but I think it was kind of hard to avoid biting into all the Szechuan peppercorns so that was tricky to avoid that super super intense flavor being kind of overwhelming. I also got a mapo tofu to go and it was a bit different than what I'm used to - maybe more soy-flavored and less spicy gelatinous meaty tofu? Overall, still a good spot.
