Plaza Bonita

Our first time. This is a nice place , the decor was nice. They have the best happy hour for margaritas I have ever seen. 7 days a week 2 to 6 with a good verity to choose from. The service was a little slow but not too bad. We like the food it was average but good and we will be back for happy hour margaritas.

Authentic Mexican food here. It gets packed; we saw few people waiting for tables. Service was fast and food was delicious. I tried their lunch combo with enchilada and tamale. It was really tasty. Portion was big so I couldn't finish my food but not enough left to take home. My friends had their burrito and tacos. Everyone enjoyed their food and made plans to return to try more things. They had comfy booths and nice decor. Highly recommend!

Stopped by today around lunch time to a nearly full restaurant. Luckily we snagged one of the last booths because we were starving. Our server came over pretty quickly to take our drink order and give us some time to look over the menu. Today we went with the enchilada Suiza and the Tres Amigos. While we waited we ordered a side of guacamole with the chips and salsa. The guacamole had good flavor, but was a bit over blended for me. Our food came out pretty fast and my enchilada were delicious. The chicken was well seasoned and everything was delicious. The Tres Amigos was so huge and while filling of flavor it was definitely too much to finish ha ha. Location was clean. There is also a bar if you don't want to wait for a table.

Plaza Bonita fell short of our expatations. The service was OK and the building is bright and colorful. The food was a real miss.Firstly, the chips were a bit old and the hot sauce was watery. Skip these chips - they are not worth the calories. I ordered the fajitas and they were served on a cast iron plate covered in tin foil. Why the tin foil on a served plate. Is it a cleaning shortcut? Is it covering something bad? I could not get the food off the plate without ingesting bits of tin foil with my food. They also mixed tomatoes with the onions and peppers, which is a big no-no. Instead of caramelizing, the veggies get steamed because of all the moisture in the tomatoes. The meat was OK but the veggies were ineddible.I was also served Charro Beans, which are essentially beans in tomato sauce. I didn't eat those either.I made complaints about the tin foil, but the response from the bartender was, "I'm not the owner. "

We were in the area looking for some lunch and stumbled on this place. It was a Sunday afternoon and looked very busy, but the wait ended up not being more than 15 minutes or so. I love the inside design of this restaurant with all the bright colors and murals, it is absolutely stunning. The service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious! I ordered the carne asada plate which comes with a large portion size and very tasty. I highly recommend this place!

Awesome food, cute restaurant, fantastic service!! My wife and I were looking for a place to have dinner in the area and noticed Plaza Bonita. It's a cute little restaurant and bar. Really loved the decor here, it felt bright and fun, yet cozy at the same time. Everyone was very welcoming and we were seated right away (Friday around 6pm). We both had the house margarita, and were surprised at the how large our glasses were. Great deal!! Chips and salsa were tasty, the salsa had the right amount of heat. I ordered the chicken mole and my wife had the fish tacos (of course, I had to have a bite). Everything was delicious! We both cleaned our plates. The mole was awesome, very rich flavor with a touch of spice. The chicken was so tender, I couldn't stop eating! I also enjoyed their beans, really flavorful. The fish tacos were great as well, there were three hearty tacos with grilled fish and a delicious sauce. Of course, the mole was my favorite, I don't know if I will every try anything else. I can't wait to return!

A solid option for Mexican/Tex-Mex in the area. While nothing will blow you away, the food is always good. The atmosphere can be pretty loud, and the service is spotty at best.

Everything was fine. That's really the best I can say. Nothing was gross, but nothing was even what I would call very good. I had the shrimp enchiladas. The "white sauce", as they called it, was glorified sour cream. It was just "eh". Guacamole, "eh". Salsa, "eh". House margarita, "eh". Service, "eh". I won't go back.

Back for the quesadilla! Everything still 10/10 An absolute must-visit for quality Mexican food in the Carefree area
