Parking goes all the way around three sides of the restaurant. And this is truly needed, because of the large square footage inside the restaurant. The parking lot was full on a Wednesday night! When I walked in, there was a bar area immediately to the right for you to grab your first cocktail, but I have never had to wait for a table. They have an equally sized outdoor patio as they have available seating area inside. If you sit on the patio where you're not staring at the parking lot, you will be fully transformed into a little Mediterranean vacation with twinkle lights above the pergola and vines on the wall. The place was fully packed outside with many people sipping on Lemontinis. First, we got the Spanakopita, which was basically a savory baklava but with diced feta and spinach inside with tomato sauce to accompany it. The Skewers were fabulous to split with a pal, as they come with a large portion of protein kebabs with rice, tomato onion, Taziki, and two slices of pita. The chicken was so tender and could convert anyone who doesn't like chicken to like chicken. These Plateia chefs are absolutely using a thermometer to cook, because nothing has been overdone, ever. Little loud at times for my 32-year-old ears to hear, but it was because of the bustling environment with people all around chatting and and having a grand old time. How could you blame them?

The restaurant does not take any reservations and walk ins only. We were seated promptly with a great server who provided great recommendations for us to try a good variety of best sellers. Food: we ordered Fried calamari, baked Feta, grilled octopus, and hummus trip as the appetizer to share amongst 5 adults. We shared lamb chops with oven baked potatoes and branzino which was fantastic. Everything was delicious with great cocktail selection to choose from. Definitely work trying out when in the area.

Grateful to be here on the Orthodox Easter with 2 of my close friends to celebrate my 2nd chance in life after the stroke ordeal! We started off with calamari and saganaki. Both was fried to perfection and delicious! For the main dish, I choose chicken kabob. It came with 2 skewers of white meat, tomato, onions, tzatziki sauce and 1 pita bread. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. There were enough tomato and onions to me to make small sandwiches using the pita. My friend opted for the roasted lamb from their Easter Special menu. She said it was very good. Her husband's chicken and pork skewers entree was equally good! They have a large parking lot with ample spaces for their customers. Large group for parties can be accommodated. The entire staff was pleasant and helpful.I've already made plans to take my family to the establishment soon!

I was really happy to come here again for the first time in a very long time, it felt like visiting an old friend. Plateia still remains a very good restaurant, and I love getting their octopus and beet salad as a starter. Everything has a really great flavor to it and their house wine is very good. However, when it comes to ordering something like fish it seems like competitor Psistaria has the edge. It's a very important thing for me too - Psistaria for the same price would give you an entire fish on the plate. With Plateia, for about the same amount of money you only get two fillets, which makes me seriously question how fresh the fish actually is compared to if I got a whole fish. It's a personal preference, but a deal breaker for me. I think I'll head to Psistaria the next time I'm craving Greek

Definitely 5 stars! Especially the lamb chops! So juicy and you can taste all the flavor but not overpowering. The grilled calamari is so good. You can taste the smokiness but still tender. The pik chops is so juicy too. Lavraki or branzino is my fave too. Service is good. The place has a casual feel. Could be pricey but worth it. Definitely a resto I would go back to and will try other food.

Came to celebrate my wife's birthday and chose Plateia after hearing good reviews. We came early for dinner, figuring to beat the rush. We were greeted pretty quickly and seated. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself initially was nice and peaceful but we ended up having a large group near us that was a bit loud. We went through the options and ended up ordering a few apps and main dishes. We got the greek trio - hummus, taramosalata, tirokafteri, saganaki and kolokothoketedes. I was a fan of the apps and all of it was very good. For the main dishes - our group of 4 got the moussaka, chicken skewers, penne kotopoulo and pappardelle. I liked the moussaka, which was very good. The others seemed to enjoy their dishes as well. Overall very nice greek restaurant to get a nice lively dinner with loved ones.

Great food and service. Waiters constantly checking in on us and filling water. Food comes out pretty fast compared to many other sit down restaurants. We sat outside and the atmosphere was great and we were not really affected by the humidity or heat. I'd definitely recommend the saganaki. I originally ordered a different lamb dish but the kitchen was out, so they upgraded to the lamb chops. Flavor was great, wasn't a huge fan of how oily it was but it was part of the dish. Potatoes tasted fantastic. The hummus was alright, I've had better hummus. Not sure if they would've, but I wished it came with more pita.

Plateia Mediterranean Kitchen is a wonderful restaurant. I've been there several times and I've had a great meal every time. Their food is super flavorful and made from scratch. I ordered the pork skewer from the specials menu, while my husband had the chicken plate. It was super yummy. They started off our meal with fresh baked bread. We also got the saganaki. This came fried, but there were no crackers to dip it with. We were super disappointed that they didn't light it on fire in front of us. The best part of the meal was the dessert. The server recommended the eclair, and it was fantastic. There was a large group that was seated next to us. This group was very loud, and it was hard to hear people at our own table. The table they sat us at was right in the middle of all of the traffic, and everyone was constantly passing by our table, despite other tables being open when we were seated. Our servers were too busy to take care of us. We only saw them a few times and felt pressured to order quickly because we may not get to order again for a while. The complimentary bread took close to thirty minutes to come out. This could've gone well with the saganaki.I will come back to Plateia Mediterranean Kitchen for their excellent food. I just hope that the service improves by then.

Wow, this place is amazing. We ordered the grilled octopus for an appetizer and it was BY FAR the most tender we've ever had and a large portion. Then we ordered the Chicken Riganati which is a half free-range bird roasted in a sauce that we wanted to DRINK. We wound up asking for a to go container of the gravy/sauce that the chicken came in so we could warm up the leftover chicken that we could not possibly eat that night. Tony, the manager, stopped by numerous times and you could tell he was very proud of his staff and food served. We were there on a Monday night and the place was very busy and had an outdoor patio that was also busy. HANDS DOWN, the best Greek restaurant in Chicagoland
