When you've had a long day at work, your kid's driving you bananas and you just don't want to cook... Pizza Matta is your place. The Best Pizza in Humboldt Park. I've had my share fare of pizza throughout my life, Pizza Matta serves an EXCELLENT pie. If you live in the neighborhood stop in and get a slice. My pre teen couldn't make it home, walking & eating lol.

This is a newer place and their Chicago thin crust I believe is even newer. It's in a rapidly gentrifying area, so this place I think is more directed at the younger transplants coming in. It's not one of those old fashioned family joints or hole in the wall places. I suppose this is Chicago thin crust but it reminded me more of well done, Square cut New Haven style TBH.It's pretty pricey. 14" with one topping will cost you $27.The crust is cracker thin and crunchy.I couldn't really taste the sauce. The sausage, from Slagel Farm, was pretty damn good. They don't skimp on the fennel.I'm not sure if it was the sausage or too much parmesan in the cheese mix or a combination of both but this was one of the most salty pizzas I've ever had.Overall, I thought it was pretty good but would probably only have a few pieces next time due to the saltiness.

Great ny style pizza. Baked perfectly. Good variety of slices available if you don't need a whole pie. A few tables if you want to dine in. Uses Caputo double o flour and it's evident from the taste of the crust. Very reasonably priced at $4 for a large slice. Salads are very unique, creative and delicious. Counter people are courtesy, knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely keep on my top 5 list.

This place has delicious pizza by the slice! Their pepperoni pizza is my favorite. Super greasy but tasty! One of the times I went in they were out of pepperoni and weren't making anymore during the day so that was a bummer. The employees are friendly and attentive. I recommend this place!

Disappointed by the Giant team. This is just average pizza. It's not quite thin and not quite pan. Reminds me of Pizza Hut pizza. We have such good pizza in the neighborhood between Pizza Lonzo, Pauline Gee, Middle Brow, and Reno. I doubt I'll order again if they don't change things up.

For this place to be affiliated with Giant it has got to be better. When you mention Giant patrons will expect much better. The pizza was expensive & bland. $40 for a pie without a single luxury ingredient nor flavor was a huge letdown. I'm loosing faith swiftly in Chicago establishments. The $20 is enough to indulge anyway however after only a couple of topping the bill can skyrocket. The crust on the slice of sausage was perfect however that's there the compliments end.

So...pizza Matta is like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, after transformation. The pizza is good. Damn good. Tavern style is super thin and crispy. Cheese is on point so are toppings. It's good. Almost too good. Like not "down and dirty" when you want to be "down and dirty". Eat this pizza in a pretty dress.

This place is mid at best. The wings we ordered were so tiny. Ordered our pizza well done and it was floppy. No sauce on the pie. Basically an expensive dominoes

I tried Matta when it first opened and was honestly underwhelmed. I gave it a second chance and am really glad I did. Matta is now among my favorite places to order delivery.Their salads are among the best in the city. The shrimp and pepperoni salads are standouts. They dance on the grave of whatever trash Sweetgreen is turning out. I never thought I'd say this about a salad, but I actually look forward to eating the salads at Matta. The pizza is cut into triangles and the pieces are foldable, although I don't know that I'd actually call this NYC style. Whatever you want to call it, the pizza is really good and makes a nice 1-2 combo with one of their salads. The mushrooms they use are noticeably better than other pizza places.

This review is for the tavern style pizza which is totally legit. They are using quality ingredients and the final product is quite tasty. Came here from another pizza experience and hands down this was better. Even held up well for the next day cold pizza test.
