Zio Vito NY Pizzeria

My favorite downtown pizza place since it opened.Slices are big -- one suffices most days, especially if you take advantage of their slice, salad and drink special for around $10. Two is an incredibly filling meal, also around $10 with tax and tip if one of your slices is a speciality like my tomato slice.I Iove a lot of different styles of pizza but Pittsburgh pizza with thicker, chewy crust and more cheese is prevalent around here -- so if you are going to call yourself NY Style (my runaway favorite), I need your crust to have some real snap to the underside. I am so happy to report that this one does. Nice owners who know what they're doing.They have a fuller menu including hoagies that look quite popular with the dine-in crowd in their decent-sized space, too, so I'm pretty sure you wouldn't go wrong trying one of those.

Clean restaurant and fast service.This place is ok if you want to grab a quick slice at lunch.It's got the idea of NY pizza but needs a little more to push it to the finish line.

My Brother-in-law requested this place for his birthday last night. Little backstory, he's Italian and is VERY picky on pizza he would find to be considered "good" pizza. Always go to the same place near us and swears by it. I can honestly say after trying this pizza, both of us were very impressed by how delicious the pizza was. The crust was fresh tasty, flavorful sauce and toppings, they had bubbles and the "undercarriage " as he would say, was perfect. We also got a Philly cheesesteak supreme and that was tender and tasty too. The man at the counter was friendly and cut the pizza into 8 slices per my request and waited till I arrived to heat the pizzas up. He also made sure I had marinara and ranch on the side like I asked. Very cute corner pizza place and it truly made you feel like you were munching pizza from NY!

This is my first time here and the staff was attentive and friendly, was greeted whilst in line and my slices were then moved to the oven for heating. Pizza came out smelling delicious and fresh, the Marg pizza's mozzarella was really fresh and the pepperonis tomato sauce was so aromatic that it stood out to me the most. Overall wonderful experience!

We stayed in Pittsburgh overnight for a concert, and wanted to grab a meal before we left, so stopped at Zio Vito's. We were so glad we found this place! Pizza was so good, and buying by the slice meant we got to try a few different kinds. All the pizza was fantastic, the pasta salad was honestly the best I've ever had. The house salad was good, nothing amazing but nice to have a salad option with your pizza. Lots of veggie pizza choices, as well as meat. They also offer pasta, lasagna, and sandwiches that's looked awesome. Try Zio Vito's if you're in downtown Pittsburgh, you'll be glad you did! Really nice, friendly owner too!

This is the best wedding soup I've ever had. Not only is this soup savory, succulent, perfectly balanced, and delicious...it gives you feelings of grandma in the kitchen with her secret recipe. This is by far the best soup I've ever had! The beef melts into your mouth before you can even take a bite and the broth is just perfect, it's beyond words!The ziti pasta and meatballs are delicious but I would order all the wedding soup until it was sold out if I lived in the area! I am immediately going back to buy a quart before finishing the pasta. Please do not discredit the other food items. I LOVE SOUP! This brings me goosebumps and warm feelings to how delicious it is! Wonderful job!(1 hour later)I did go back right before closing and ordered a quart to go and could not resist the pizza. I'm glad I didn't stop myself. I met Vito, the owner who makes his ingredients fresh every morning, and praised him for his love that he pours into his food. He's a great person and the friend you'd invite to every family gathering.I've traveled all over the world for work and this is the BEST SOUP! Last week I was in Paris, and the French Onion soup was delicious but could not even step close to how much mastery that's ingrained in this soup. If I could choose one thing for the rest of my life to consume, it would be the Wedding Soup!

We were in town and looking for something for lunch. The Pizza and Caesar salad was excellent. Thin crisp crust, it's a small place, you order from the counter. Everyone was very nice. Great NY pizza.

Stopped in here with my wife and 2 kids. By far the best pizza we have ever had. We were in town from Houston TX visiting family for the long weekend and boy do we wish we had a pizza place half as good as this back home. We got to speak to the owner of this pizzeria while we are there and it is very apparent why the food is so delicious. His passion for food is on full display. He is actually from Italy so he brings a lot of the Italian recipes with him. The location itself is in a great spot and is very well kept. Can't wait to come visit family again as this will now be one of our staples whenever we are in town.

I travel the country for work and Zio Vito is one block from the AT&T building. Close proximity aside Vito and his people serve up great tasting Italian eats along with a genuine welcome inside and enjoy what we serve . greetings.So whenever i work in the Pittsburgh area again I'll be sure to vist Zio Vito every day.Ronnie R

Good prices, better pizza, best staff. This place is one of my go-to's in town. The pizza is delicious and the staff are always so friendly. They remember the regulars and always have a smile on their faces no matter how busy they are.
