Zen Asian Diner

Great corner diner. You have to get take out only but it has always been yummy! Service is quick. Most meals are ready in 10/15 minutes.

I have to update my review after some new experiences with Zen. The food quality has gone downhill immensely. I once got received steamed broccoli with absolutely nothing on it but water that filled the container! Definitely not what I had ordered. Between slow delivery times and poor food quality, I've taken Zen out of my rotation.Original:I order delivery from Zen all the time, probably 2-3x/month. Really wish they would opt back into DoorDash drivers however because the restaurant no longer qualifies for my DashPass so it's much more expensive now. Their vegetarian sushi is great, although to be fair, the last time I got the sweet potato roll, it was a little chewy. I love the broccoli in garlic sauce with added tofu, that's my go to.

Vegetarian/ vegan/ gluten-free sushi delight! We were happy to create a diverse meal of vegetarian and vegan sushi delivered to our home from Zen Asian Diner! I wouldn't recommend the agedashi tofu for delivery, however, as it can get soggy in transit. I look forward to calling upon Zen for veggie sushi delivery in the future!

We ordered the lunch specials here and while we like that you can get a bento box with two different entrees in it, the food was just not good. It was very oily and you don't feel good after eating the food here.

A solid choice for home delivery. Our food arrived quickly and everything was delicious. I ordered the eggplant with garlic sauce, and it was very tasty and had a nice variety of vegetables. The vegetarian sushi rolls were also good. I can also recommend the scallion pancakes. Portions we're large, for example, our ample serving of edamame was more than 2 could share. In summary, good veggie options, large portions, speedy delivery, and delicious food.

Good menu choices and delivery was punctual but the overall quality of food was at best a C+. The tempura wasn't fried in panko crumbs but rather some cheap cornmeal. Add to it there was no tempura sauce. Instead it came with katsu sauce. So not the same. And the quality of sushi was not at all fresh. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't exactly good. The sushi at the Giant Eagle Market District is better and at half the price. I really wanted to like it given that they do grubhub delivery and I'll take all the delivery options I can get during this pandemic but it's not going to be from Zen.

I wouldn't feed this to my worst enemy. I have been a chef for 30 years and in this industry since I was 11 and I have never had worse food from any place in my life. If it wasn't Christmas day I would have taken it back and gotten my money back at the very least...We ordered the spicy Maki tray and two seaweed salads. It wasn't even Maki, it was some fish flavored breadcrumbs, I mean literally it was just bread crumbs. NO FISH. It smelled horrid too. They couldn't even be bothered to actually mix the bread crumbs properly, there were spots of just raw unseasoned breadcrumbs. I threw it away and yet days later I can still smell it in my house. Even the frozen seaweed salad had no sesame oil on it, nor anything but the seaweed for flavoring. So bitter. My buddy picked up the food or I wouldn't even have accepted it because of how bad it looked. He said the place was dirty and dingy too.If you value your health DO NOT EAT HERE...

This hole-in-the-wall restaurant is literally on a street corner and has zero curb appeal. Yet, they have great value on their dinner bento boxes, and surprisingly tasty sushi. I'm talking about the salmon avocado roll -- all ingredients tasted fresh and it was a large size. Meanwhile, the tuna maki was forgettable. The shrimp/vegetable tempura + California roll dinner box was larger relative to price and tasted fine. My only complaints are that the tempura was stale and they made the roll with crab stick instead of salmon. They're open for takeout only currently. I chose to forgo a delivery fee and pick up my own order. The interior looks like a run-of-the-mill restaurant. Given the pandemic, it looks like they've utilized some of the space for their supplies. It had a disorderly feel. But, staff wore masks and generally seemed to be keeping clean.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We ordered delivery, and it took 2 hours and 30 minutes to arrive. When it finally did, it wasn't even our order--it was someone else's, and we were overcharged for it. To make things worse, when we called to fix the issue, no one spoke English, making it impossible to resolve.Then, they had the audacity to call us back and claim we underpaid, even though they were the ones who completely messed everything up. The guy on the phone was rude as hell and, after realizing his mistake, just wanted to "call it even." Uh, no. Two of our guys didn't even get their food, and we were missing drinks, soups, appetizers, and two main orders.Bottom line: If you're cool with terrible service, waiting over two hours for food that isn't even yours, and being overcharged for the privilege, this is the place for you! Otherwise, stay far, far away.

This was the worst sushi I've ever had. The seaweed wrap was so inedible I couldn't even cut through it. The plastic dishwater broke before the seaweed did. My assumption is someone threw a stick of cream cheese into the Philly roll and prayed.Just, spare yourselves
