My kids have dubbed this place No-Go-So and that tells you pretty much all you need to know. We were greeted at the door by the smell of rotting fish. But we thought that maybe somebody had an accident at delivery or something. Inside it didn't smell much better. It smelled like rotting fish mixed with cooked fish and soy sauce. Even so, we were greeted very quickly by the hostess and sat at the front of the house because we were planning to just get sushi. And there we sat, entirely ignored, for over 20 minutes. We were entirely alone at the front of the house because they had just opened. After about six or seven minutes, another group was sat quickly when they came in and a waiter came out and immediately started to take their drink order like a frat boy at a frat party. There was so much one sided flirting. I can't even imagine how the people in that group felt since it was a mixed group of couples. I could see the women squirm. The weirdest part about it was the sheer length of time the guy stood there, chatting them up. Then he went over to a table of 20yo women that he watched be seated during his chat session and told them he would be back to get their drink order in that loud flirty manner. It was so cringey! He left for 10 minutes. I took one of my children to the bathroom. The bathroom was horrific. It doesn't just need a remodel, it looks like it hasn't seen a fresh bucket of mop, water, and a decade. Eventually, the waiter, finally came back with the drinks for the one table. He then made what we can only describe as a show of ignoring our table. The guy actually spun to keep his back to us the entire time. It was so so weird. You're probably thinking I'm saying to deserve this kind of treatment, but you have to understand we are just a 30 something aged couple with two young children who were quietly coloring an activity that I had brought them to do. There's nothing that stands out about us at all. We are the type of millennials who want to not be noticed... but this took it to an extreme. We don't want boomers judging our kids so we keep them quietly occupied without screens, but we aren't invisible. The only thing that we could figure was that his overt flirting is his method of getting more tips, and it doesn't work on a young family. He sat there patiently waiting as he took the other tables drink order, my husband thought he might pop over and get ours too, but he didn't. He left. At this point, we decided to just quietly get up and leave and go to a different restaurant nearby. There are plenty to choose from. Given the smell, I am quite glad that we didn't get sushi. Maybe we were saved from food poisoning that night, who knows. We will never go there again.

Service was fine, some of my hibachi seafood seemed undercooked too fishy tasting and they add a gratuity to the bill so would not go back (most places only do this if it's a party of 8 or more).

me in with friends for a weeknight dinner... They have seating at their teppanyaki style grills as well as regular booths where you can get items cooked brought to you, just without the show. The menu is ok, nothing spectacular, just the typical items for this sort of Japanese restaurant. Our server was decent. The food was just ok... the beef was dry and overcooked. There was hardly any Japanese flavors to the meats. The salad dressing was pretty good though.

Really love this place but last time we ate here did not have the best experience. I think our server was new which is fine but she handed me the wrong food twice. We told her both times it was not what we ordered, she left it on the tablet my boyfriend tried one piece of what she gave us because why not? she didn't take it back; and it was an additional $20 to our bill. We had finished our meal before what I actually ordered came out. Just disappointing when we come here frequently. She had to come back 3 times and ask what we ordered again before ringing it in and had to ask me for my menu and have me point out what it was I wanted. Update: just finished our meal and got the wrong change back as well. Not a good experience.

I just want to come back and say that I must have had a bad waiter the first time I came here because every other waiter/waitress has been so awesome about my allergy issues. I love Yokoso so much, my favorite birthday experience was at this restaurant, I love the hibachi shrimp THEY ARE PERFECT and I crave it. when I had gastric bypass my best friend bought me four quarts of their clear onion soup while I was on my liquid diet and it was my little comfort through the experience!I don't really do the Hibachi experience, I'm autistic and also have food allergies so its not very fun for me but I have sat at the table for friend's birthdays. The hibachi chef's are always very cautious about my allergy and make sure to make mine before they crack an egg on the grill! Thank y'all so much for being awesome!! I love coming here, it's one of my favorite places in Pittsburgh!

I have been coming here about two a year for the last 6-7 years, and I cannot believe I have yet to review this place. The sushi list is endless and if you're not a sushi fan, the hibachi is just as out of this world ! I've been here about a dozen of times and I've never left disappointed. I have sat at the hibachi tables as well as the bar. The tuna tartar is my absolute favorite and my husband loves the filet mignon hibachi dinner that comes with all the sides such as rice veggies soup and salad. It is always pretty busy anytime we have dined in this establishment considering all of the entertainment places they have surround the restaurant ( improv, movie theater, shopping...etc). What I genuinely like about this place (I see it mainly with the bartenders ), is that no matter how busy or frustrating things may be they still take great care of you and hussle for fast service . I wish I remembers my bartenders name last Saturday because she was absolutely wonderful.

If I could give a negative, I would. Let's start by saying driving a little over 30 minutes to get hibachi. I get home and my lobster tail is missing and instead they gave me chicken. I call and the owner refuses to get on the phone. He tells a server that I need to drive back so he could see the meal. That would have been an hour since there was a major accident on the road that I need to take to get back. Plus a kid who needed medicine at a certain time. I only asked for the difference in price from what I received and what I ordered. That would have been a total of approximately $9.00. I had also left a tip for a to go order. The girl on the phone refused to give me the "boss" and Mr. Kim refused to get on the phone. Never going back - EVER!!!
