why am i always the bearer of bad news? so, the place has only been open for a week & there are ALOT of kinks to work out. tom had gone past it on his way home several times & said it was busy every time. we decided to wait until things calmed down & then we'd try. we were on our way to another restaurant when we saw that no one was there. what a break! ok, let's try now! the notary lot had signs that you could park there over the weekend. great! we took a bottle of wine with us too. doesn't hurt to ask, right?we walked in. it was about 4:30 on saturday. there were no customers! we stood there as we didn't know if you sat yourself or they did. 2 women were on the other side of the room talking. eventually, 1 said to the other, hey, you have customers to seat! the girl finally came over & said sit anywhere. i asked if we could bring our bottle in. they had to ask the owner, yianni, who was in the back. yes, you can byob! they said someone came in with a 6 pak & they turned them down. they felt it was too much for 1 person. hey, it's not me! i'm just the messenger! lol! the waitress gave us the menus to look over. luckily, we brought our own bottle opener too! she gave the same red plastic tall glasses they put all the drinks in! said they were working on getting something better. the 2nd women introduced herself as the manager, & that they were working on things. mind you, during our time there, 2 folks who were friends came in for takeout, 1 guy sat at the counter, & a family of 4. the menu is HUGE! i know they're open from breakfast to dinner, but dang! it's literally pages long. luckily, the dinner menu is separate! the girl asks if we want an app. sure! let's start with some calamari with a lemon-dill dipping sauce & 6 wings in a garlic parmesan butter. now, let's look at this menu! what do we want, what do we want? we have several things that catch our eye, but we make our choices. all i can do now is laugh! hahahaha! i asked for the shrimp scampi & tom ordered the sole. oh, i'm sorry, we don't have that. we don't have anything in the land & sea section, except for the steak. how about a lamb shank? nope. lamb chops? nope. a salad? no salads. a reuben? nope. at this point, i say, well, what do you have? wouldn't that be easier? so the cook came out. there's the philly steak. fine, give me that. then the other woman said, the only greek specials they had were the skewers of chicken or pork, but they were really good. ok, tom will have the philly steak & i'll have the pork skewers. seriously?then we hear the cook from the back, oh, i didn't see they got apps! wow! so our apps came. the calamari was ok, but it came with a cold condiment pack of marinara sauce! the wings weren't too bad. except my sauce also came cold in a condiment pack! cold garlic parmesan butter! i'd dab a little on the wings as i ate them. so i couldn't tell at 1st if it was the butter or the drum that felt cold. i turned the wing & took another bite. this time i came away with bloody meat in my mouth, & my finger touched a COLD bone! spit that out! great!my skewers came unskewered around a mound of molded rice. the meat was rather chewy. the rice was mush. tom's sandwich & fries were good tho! i was still hungry so i got a piece of baklava. this thing was enormous! it could have been 2 pieces, but i took care of it! as tom says, when the pit is open it doesn't stop! it was not a good visit. i know they're just starting, but someone should be in charge! maybe they'll hit their stride! it will be a while before we go back, that's for sure. they gave us big portions, of what they had! sorry, no photos. it may have scared them!

Good basic breakfast in a cute, clean, bright little diner environment. Service was quick and server was friendly and very efficient. Both scrambled eggs and omelet were browned, which is not my favorite. Not bad in the gyro omelet, but as scrambled it just translates as overcooked and sloppy. Quality overall, though, was good and I'd go back for the omelet and home fries.

The house salad was fresh and a very big portion for a side salad. I had the Grilled Chicken Souvlaki, the chicken was juicy, the rice pilaf was so delicious and the pita bread was so flavorful. The service was great and the inside is very homey like a dinner but with also feels like you're in Greece with the blue and white walls! Obviously I had to get a piece of baklava on the way out and the layers are flakey and it was so good. I could go on about this place I haven't had a 10/10 experience in a while, but this place was phenomenal!

We visited on opening day and were met by enthusiastic and pleasant servers. Service was quick and it wasn't busy. I was a bit disappointed that my eggs and bacon with an English muffin on the side came out wrong, as a sandwich. They offered to fix it, but I just deconstructed the meal to eat it as separate pieces; the only additional issue with that was that I had ordered two eggs and they only put one on the sandwich. My partner ordered an omelette that was really good - I would definitely order that next time, the bacon was nothing special. We'll visit again in a few weeks once they're in the groove. We so appreciate having a diner in the neighborhood and look forward to our next trip!

A traditional American diner with Greek flair and a community vibe. This classic diner is small, and adorned with posters of famous Greek images, I was greeted by friendly staff and took a seat at the counter. A cold brew coffee to start, then 2 egg combo (over easy) with toast and a mound of home fries, sausage on the side. Everything was done well, and I did NOT leave hungry! The prices are very reasonable, and plenty of options.

Bright, welcoming, family owned diner nestled in the downtown section of Castle Shannon. Parking is only a block away or find some on street parking if you're feeling lucky! The food: a great mix of Greek standards and classic diner fare. I highly recommend trying this place. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY SELF RESPECT! Waitress was incredibly rude for no apparent reason. There also were not enough chairs, but patrons were SCREAMED at for standing. What did the waitress want us to do! Almost every order was WRONG. Silverware was LAUNCHED across the table, napkins were THROWN at customers instead of cleaning up the spill, and PHYSICAL AND VERBAL THREATS OF VIOLENCE AGAINST MINORS were frequently made. Please don't give this restaurant your money. This waitress should actually consider choosing a new career. On top of the disgusting lack of service, the food was comparable to something a toddler would make with playdoh and legos. My meatballs were cold in the middle and overcooked on the outside! Don't come here PLEASE!

So I took my kids to a hockey game a minute a way. I thought this restaurant would be a good breakfast. I could not be more wrong. First of all we had a big party and the staff were very mad about it. There were not seats half of us had to stand. It was extremely cold. Next calling our waitress an ogre would be a compliment she threatens to beat our whole hockey team and threw spoons and forks at us. On top of that our food took at least one hour to 2 hours. One of our drinks chocolate milk was filed with mustards and she tried to blame me. After all that wait you would expect the food to be good. It was not my omelette was cold and they were out of steak. My son asked for more water and a waiter screamed at him . Our waitress also spilled water all over my food. Do not go 0 stars!
