First time here in 4 years. Wow this place is so damn amazing from what I remembered. We sampled 3 wines for free. Tried 2 reds and a white wine. They were all extremely good.I loved the 1896. He said it's a Noiret with blackberry mixed. He said he doesn't age it in the barrel. The wine maker said he gets his grapes from north east, New York and California. 1896 smells amazing and has a great bite to it.We enjoyed a glass of wine and purchased some wine to go home. Great place the ow we is so nice and helpful. They are down to earth here and have food available to order as well.

The owner behind the bar is an absolute delight. He is so kind and genuine and their wines are the best in the area. We had a bottle of Fredonia and Guilty pleasures and these 2 bottles will keep us as faithful patrons for years to come. Great spot to unwind and forget your troubles for a while.

Ummm this place is beautiful! Long story short, I accidentally bought a Groupon for a Bruschetta plate at Wooden Door Winery not realizing that it is over an hour drive from home. My boyfriend and I were bored Saturday evening, so we decided to take the hike out. Upon arrival, we were immediately impressed with the exterior architecture! Wooden Door Winery is an old church, which can definitely be confirmed when you walk in and see the layout, the original alter, etc. They have blended enough of the church's original architecture with some of their own style and in turn they have a beautiful place. As for the wine, you were only allowed 3 free samples, so my boyfriend and I each chose 3 different ones and shared. We ending up choosing a sweeter wine because honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of their dry selection. We ended up choosing comfy chairs on the alter to share our bottle as we waited for our bruschetta plate. I have to say that I had higher expectations for the bruschetta plate. What we received was more like a not quite toasted piece of French bread, topped with a few large chunks of tomatoes and onions, and then covered in mozzarella cheese. This appetizer was served on a large, square, paper plate. I definitely would not order the bruschetta plate again, but the environment makes up for what they lack in appetizers. I also enjoyed the bottle of wine we chose! I would return if I was out in the area!

The Peach Wine is my favorite! The staff is friendly and very informative. This was a church when I was growing up, the architecture is beautiful and the vibe is chill.Looking to try the Raspberry Wine the next time I go.

When you get personal attention from the owner/sommelier you know you are in a good place. Lots of excellent wine choices, great, affordable food and fun, warm atmosphere and craft beer on tap, for winophobes. Give it a try!

Wooden Door Winery hosted our bridal shower over the weekend and we were extremely happy with the venue! Staff were very welcoming and helpful with setting up, communicating expectations, and providing us with delicious wine. We were offered samples while we set up, which was fun! The old church building was beautiful but felt warm and inviting with the touches of a winery. If I lived in the area, this would definitely be a place I would check out with friends and family for a nice evening out. There was a good variety of wine and plenty of comfortable seating. Thanks so much for hosting us, we got great feedback from our guests!

Review of Wooden Door dry white and dry red wines: If you're looking for a wine that embodies everything wrong with the Pennsylvania wine scene, look no further than Wooden Door. From the moment you take a whiff, you're greeted with an overwhelming aroma of acetone and raw alcohol, leaving a distinctly medicinal impression. The mouthfeel is disappointingly thin, and while you might detect a hint of sweetness buried beneath the harshness, it's simply not worth the effort to unearth it.The flavor profile is a chaotic mess, featuring notes reminiscent of salty pepper grass and a petrol-like undertone that only adds to the confusion. It's the kind of sipper that leaves you questioning your life choices, with a finish so harsh and fleeting that you're left wondering if it was ever really there at all. The additives and diffusion methods used in its production are glaringly obvious, and it feels like a disservice to the local wine community--definitely the culprit behind many "I can't drink local wine" anecdotes. In my experience, this wine gave me a bout of PTSD--every sip felt like a bad decision in the making. I even contemplated pouring it out immediately after taking a taste, but I held on just long enough to spit it back into the glass. It's a shame, because I had high hopes, but with over 197 wines rated in my collection, this one sits firmly at the bottom of the barrel. Save yourself the regret and steer clear of Wooden Door Wine; your taste buds--and your friends and head--will thank you, both initially and the next morning. Not recommended at any price.Wooden Door is to wine what Jose Cuervo Gold or Southern Comfort are to spirits. Maybe enjoy the winery, the bands, the foods but steer clear of this rot gut wine.
