Windy Ridge Dairy

Drop what you are doing and get to Windy Ridge. The ice cream here is amazing, so delicious and satisfying. We were kayaking at Moraine, and I noticed that Windy Ridge was just 15 minutes extra time on our trip home. I saw it was mentioned in Pennsylvania Magazine, so I was intrigued. All of their ice cream is made from the milk of the cows on their farm. It's a beautiful drive in the countryside, and we loved sitting outside on the porch eating their ice cream. Great shop with locally sourced burgers, dairy, and other great stuff! The ice cream is absolutely amazing as well ad the frozen burgers we bought for a family party. I can't wait to try other things! Really friendly staff as well :)

Such sweet and friendly staff and the dairy is top notch milk eggs and bacon. Prices are very good and the ice cream is to die for!!! They had variety cuts of all the deli meat and cheeses for sale in baggies and so glad they did because they were all very tasty and will definitely be purchasing them in the future.

This is a hidden gem in the area. After several recommendations I finally made the stop. The building is beautiful with a wrap around porch and a lot of comfortable seating. They have a variety of products they make including their own ice cream. The flavors change often and are delicious. The woman working the counter was very friendly and let us sample two different kinds to decide which one to purchase. We ultimately decided to go with the mint Oreo. I'm told the popular flavor is "cow plop" which is a mixture of chocolate, peanut butter cups, chocolate chips and Oreos. Oh my! You can follow their Facebook page to see what flavors they have. They sell their fresh milk and chocolate milk in reusable glass bottles which I love! I know several people that will only purchase their milk here. I grabbed one of their small peach teas to take home and it was awesome. Unfortunately their sweet corn was sold out when we arrived but we will definitely be back. So many other products to try including their ground beef, ricotta,salsa, jams and jerkys. There is a deli counter as well for your meat and cheese needs. They sell party platters for any event you may have. The chipotle jack cheese is my favorite. You have to stop here if you're in the area. I'm going to stop since this review is so long as is.

I love this place. It's very clean, accessible, and as an interesting selection of products, including those I seek the most, those of local origin.A note to the owners:There are a few items in the cooler to the right of the entrance in the foyer well past there expired date. It is obvious from the rest of the store that T his is some kind of oversight or maybe a science project. Obviously, I had a great impression of your dairy, but I could see how this could leave somebody with less than the stellar impression .

Very discouraging.....Although I had heard good things about WRD, I will tell u GET THERE HALF HOUR BEFORE THEY OPEN! We arrived 30 mins after they opened only to be told that in 30 mins they had run out of " flavor of the week.." and had " just run out if their subs..." A few days later we arrived at 10:08 ( 8 mins after they opened) only to be told on e again that they had " run out of several items" .... MY SUGGESTION... YOU CANT SELL WHATEVER YOU DONT HAVE!!! PERHAPS MAKE MORE.... IDK... BUT WE WONT MAKE THE TRIP THERE AGAIN... Truly false advertising and we have been told the same thing by many others.... Staff unfriendly and not the least bit interested in accomodating their customers... NOT IMPRESSED!!

This family dairy is just the best. The fresh local eggs and ground beef make me drive out of my way to get them. The peach iced tea tastes like you're eating a peach. They have fantastic deli meats and cheeses and fresh homemade ice cream. Fresh in season produce is a great bonus too!! Great people own this place it's like a blast from the past.
