Heard about this place for a while. Finally went and tried it out with my wife. Didn't realize it was take out only, but that was fine. The menu looks pretty extensive. A lot to choose from. But we were both in the mood for shrimp lo mein. Had the choice of small, large or lunch. We opted for lunch. Bill was $15, surprisingly not bad at all. Our hostess was very nice courteous. We only waited about 10 minutes for our order. When we got home, we were even more surprised. We knew there was fried rice included, but we didn't expect how much food was in the container. The lo mein was very good, fresh shrimp done perfectly. The fried rice was really good, not the standard we expected, this contained vegetables in it, usually most Chinese fried rice is just rice fried up on soy sauce and a little bit of garlic. This has peas, carrots and onions. Not quite as good as my Filipino wife makes, but way above par. Can't wait to try other items on the list, I hope they can do extra spicy as I like the heat. Definitely our go to place now because Somerset doesn't have quality Chinese food like this. Enjoyed every bite.

astounding. a *good * chinese restaurant is like one in a million. fortunately, i've found a few. but after having lived in new york, boston, and chicago, who'd have thunk i'd have to come back to my birthplace, small town windber, PA, to have the best orange beef i've ever had. orange beef is my go-to order for chinese. the first test is crispiness: anything soggy is an automatic fail. (of course crispy takeout is challenging, but if they cut holes in the lid and you break it out before too long, it can still work). the next test is coating: if it even comes close in mass to the cut of beef it covers... that's also a fail. hand-in-hand goes cut of beef: it shouldn't be too big or too thick or too small or too thin. it should be pounded kinda thin, but you still want to feel a good beefy morsel in your mouth. finally, the crowning glory is flavor / sauce: it should be rich yet light, not gooped on but used almost sparingly, like a light basting. happy to say... windber wok knocks it all out of the park.

Ca't give 5 stars for take out, but food from this restaurant was very good. I ordered the 'Happy Family' with Lo Mein and it made my Family Happy. Nice change of pace for a town dominated by Italian restaurants.

We love our regular Sunday takeout from Windber Wok! The shrimp is especially wonderful - huge and cooked correctly! The owners are friendly and generous. Give them a try!

We had ordered from here when they first came to town, and we were NOT happy! We decided to give them another chance because we felt that the first time could simply have been either an off night or "growing pains". I am SO glad that we did give them the 2nd chance! I don't know how, but the quality and taste of the food has, for us, made this now our only consistently go-to for take-out food! The flavor and smell of the food just popped! Today, I had made a mistake when I ordered; I had ordered the sesame chicken but had forgotten to tell them "no spice". Needless to say, I was very unhappy with the taste as it was far too spicy. When I called to get an order to replace the food with NO spice, the person on the phone was quite apologetic and very professional. She gave the impression that she really cared and wanted her customers to be happy and enjoy their food. This whole matter was MY fault, but this woman could not have been more gracious! When my husband went to pick up the new order, the woman would not let me husband pay her for the boo-boo that I myself had made!On a different note, the food is presented in a very nice way; portion size is outstanding and the flavor cannot be beat! We are very lucky to have given this place a 2nd chance! Come enjoy the food here- it can't be beat!

Get the Fried pork dumplings and the beef and broc, stay away from fried rice and the Singapore noodles. Very friendly staff. Never been too busy. Seems clean.
