Vic and Nicalena's Wood Fired Pizza

My girlfriend and I drove out all the way from Pittsburgh to try this pizza. Full disclosure Vic and Nicalena's son is our friend from college. My girlfriend has been raving about their pizza since she first had it and insists it ruins all other pizza for her.I can say she is 100% right! I got the meatball pizza and the crust was the perfect balance of soft and crispy. My girlfriend got the margherita pizza and the home made mozzarella was so good I wish they sold it in the store so I could take it home with me.The interior is very modern and minimalist, which helps it stand out from the food chains nearby.I couldn't recommend this place more, it is a local family run business doing food the right way.

Forget everything you know about pizza in Kittanning and quite possibly Armstrong County. From the moment you walk in, you know that there is something distinctly different about Vic and Nicalena's from the other restaurants in the area. The interior of the restaurant doesn't have a ton of tacky décor slapped all over the walls, but is bright and inviting. I immediately felt like I could be in the Southside or Lawrenceville, it just has that metropolitan feel that isn't found anywhere else in the area.Now on to the pizzas. The pizzas are actually wood fired, freshly made to order, with quality ingredients you taste. My wife had the Margherita and I had the Italian Mac & Cheese. Both crusts were cooked to perfection: thin and crispy but a bit of chewiness. Everything that I look for in a crust. The Italian Mac & Cheese has 7 different cheeses giving it a full depth of flavor; a definite must try in my opinion. They do the classic Margherita to a T, tasting the fresh crushed tomatoes in every bite. There's even a few deserts to tackle your sweet tooth. When we went there was a whole case of delightful looking treats, ultimately we chose the raspberry cheesecake and it was a nice finish to the meal.My wife and I took our son and felt totally comfortable eating there. Vic came over to our table to make sure everything was to our liking and service was second to none. They have a few high chairs making it super convenient for us all to eat together. Just to note they, are cash only, but there is an ATM readily available. So I had to give a review to give it justice. No doubt we will be making many trips to Vic and Nicalena's for years to come!

This is literally the best wood fired pizza I've ever had. The crust is perfectly tender and crisp, and the sauce and toppings are so fresh. Even just a simple pepperoni pizza tastes 10 times better than any other pepperoni pizza I've had. My only critique is that I wish it was a little bigger inside, and had better drink selections (like fresh brewed iced tea, perhaps? ). We live about 30 minutes away, so we usually want to eat there, but weekends can get pretty crowded. As I said in a previous review for another Kittanning gem (A Mano), I'm literally thrilled with the amazing the food this little town is putting out and hope they stick around for a long tine. This little pizza shop has become one of our top three favorite restaurants for us. And all three of those restaurants just happen to be in Kittanning.Ps - their house salad is also seriously perfect. It's fresh and has the perfect mix of ingredients (chickpeas, olives, Parmesan, tomatoes, onion, and red peppers, I think). And the house dressing that accompanies it is sooooo freaking delicious I could drink it!

Great pizza, we had margarita pizza and veggie, both awesome, crust is authentic thin crust done in a brick fire oven. Also had large fresh salad, good ingredients only wish they had homemade vinaigrette vs bottle Italian dressing.Cannoli for dessert was grand.Another suggestion would be to not use paper plates to eat from, took away from the true Italian experience.

Vic and Nicalena's pizza is absolutely wonderful! Not only are their pizzas and desserts delicious, but the restaurant has such a nice vibe and is beautiful inside. I had the opportunity to try a couple of pizzas and they were all very tasty. I particularly loved the Mac and Cheese pizza and surprisingly, as I'm usually scared to try different ingredients aside from cheese, the Prosciutto and Fig pizza was my absolute favorite, highly recommend! It is so nice to have pizza that you can seeing being made right in front of you with fresh, homemade ingredients. In addition to their pizzas being delicious, the Carlesi family is so nice and accommodating and has really brought something new to the table as opposed to your usual run of the mill pizza shop in a small town. If you have been thinking about stopping in, please go, you will not be disappointed!

We have frequented this pizza place since we found it, and have been amazed each and every time in. It is wrong of me to call it a pizza place because that eludes to a teenager standing in front of a massive pizza oven churning out mediocre pizza after mediocre pizza but that is not Vic and Nicalena's. Their pizza is great. The wood oven gives it a slightly Smokey flavor (not overpowering, just a hint). They use quality ingredients that are blended perfectly into a great taste. The crust is light and airy and always tender with just enough crispness. If you want a great artisan style pizza go here and you won't be disappointed. Don't waste your time going to a chain pizza place go here and enjoy a quality pizza. P.S. their pepperoni is out of this world good.

Not sure if this place is open or not. Went there on a Thursday night at 7:30 and it was closed. Can't find hours anywhere.

They are no longer open as a restaurant. Only catering, so sad not to be able to have the pizza.
