vesta 88 river house

Oh please come eat their food! DH and I made it to Vesta 88 this evening for the first time and we will be back!For starters, loved the decor, an homage to the local coal economy. Maps of the coal reserves on the tables and great historical photos on the walls give it a very local, cozy feel.I had The Santucci, a unique sandwich named in honor of a local family (I work with and went to HS with at least one Santucci). Not a sandwich you will find anywhere else, and worth the trip! DH had the Pan Seared Grouper, which he loved. The sauce was perfectly done and it came with a delicious risotto.We usually skip dessert but with Tiramisu on the menu DH couldn't resist. So I joined in with the Chocolate Ganache Cheesecake. Loved them both!We were served by a lovely young lady, Sophie, who was able to answer all our questions and was attentive to our needs. So glad to be able to support our local economy and est good food!

Pretty good and an upgrade to the previous place. Had lunch, bar food but very good. I would definitely recommend it.

My husband & I enjoyed a lunch of half-slab of barbecued ribs & a rigatoni meat sauce meal. Our waitress kept our coffee cups filled; very friendly lady. Being from coal-mining families, we really liked the pictures of miners & the black service ware; great decor!!

Absolutely best Sunday brunch anywhere. Dinners are top notch. Everyone is so friendly. The outside bar is awesome. New docks make it so easy. Love the place.
