Classic neighborhood bar with a pinball room and a pool table room. There's a great vibe here, especially one of accepting people from diverse backgrounds. The staff are friendly, hard-working, and welcoming. This is a unique place with lots of character. They have some interesting specials and a 3 - 5 pm Happy Hour.

Welcoming bar. They have a room full of pinball games in the back. There were over a dozen different pinball machines. A bunch of other games available too. Lots of TVs throughout the bar especially in the back room with the pinball machines. Patrons were friendly and one bought pizza for the bar. Bartender was quick.

Pros: decent enough selection of beer on draft. Very cool, old interior--seems historical. The Clemente mural is very, very cool. Ample parking available outside. Good prices on the beer. I had good service here. Cons: food selection is limited. I watched live music here once, and the owner literally pulled the power plug on the PA on the band, which is super dangerous and could've shorted their sound system (not sure if the sound system was the venues or the bands, either, a really shortsighted thing for the owner to do). I would never watch another show here again. The space was way too tight for the band. The show brought in a lot of patrons into the bar, which caused the bar to be overwhelmed. Seemed like music was a one-off.

I really hate to do this but when the new owner took over (not sure how long ago that actually was) they got rid of the great food. All they seem to have is pizza. The menu was what set this place apart. I was devastated to find out when I stopped in for lunch today that I can no longer get that delicious beer battered fish sandwich. Sadly now this is just another dive bar on the North Side.

Clean, inexpensive, friendly classic neighborhood bar. Staff (Patty, Lauren, Jess) is down to earth, genuinely kind. Some craft & local on draft. Cheap shots and mixed drinks. Game is on, games to play (darts, pinball and more) and amazing mural of The Great One all here for you plus great juke box. Everything is cash only. See you there

You know that green and yellow bar on the right side of the parkway north as you leave the city, this is it. I've passed this place about 500 times and always wanted to stop in. Well last Saturday I finally did, and man-o-man was I pleased. I expected a dingy divey old bar, and this was the opposite. It's clean with a beautiful original wood bar, tin ceilings, and all sorts of brass nicknacks all over the place. The clientele is a bunch of middle aged Northsiders that like to pump the juke box full of classic rock, talk Stillers and 'guins, drink their drinks fast, and do a lot of laughing. The beers are cold, tall, and dirt cheap. A mason jar full of Yuengling is $2.10 or a 24 oz glass is $3.As outsiders I expected my friend and I to get a "You're not welcome here" look, but the bar tender and other patrons were very friendly and quick to include us in conversation if we wanted to join. Looks like Verdettos just joined my list of go to joints for a good cold beer. Oh, and apparently they are famous for their Turtle Soup, so there's that too.

I was there earlier this evening after the Penguins game and ordered one drink and one beer at the bar. I gave the bartender a $20 and she put my change on the bar. I went to the bathroom and came back and saw my change sitting on the bar. I sat at a nearby booth with my friend and when I went back to get my money it was gone. When I asked the young female bartender where my money was, she said "Oh, if the money is left on the bar I think it's a tip so I put it in my jar." I was a bartender for many years and I never assumed money on the bar was mine until the customer left or told me specifically this was my tip. This was a cheap move from a cheap bartender at a cheap place. Clemente would be ashamed to be on this wall.
