Fat, ugly owner who owns one pair of pants hated having a special needs kids in the skating rink on family night. The kid wasn't bothering anyone, just was different. Was denied skates and the mom was reprimanded. The owner doesn't care about folks having fun. Well, maybe just certain kinds of folks. Eff this place!

What a gem! I haven't been roller skating in probably over 15 years, so when I had the opportunity to take my two year old twins I thought why the heck not! This is a charming little rink. Walking in the door I was immediately brought back to the hundreds of hours I spent in roller rinks as a kid. It had that same old school charm without feeling outdated. There are a lot of options for those that want to skate. Family friendly times on the weekends, times for adults and older kids and, what we went for, a toddler time. The staff was extremely accommodating. My daughter was scared to even try skates on but they helped her and by the end of the session, she was really enjoying herself. For the preschool skate, they have several riding toys and other items kids can push around if they don't want to wear skates. They also have skates that slide on over their shoes. It is very affordable - all three of us can skate with rentals for under $10. Much more affordable then most other toddler friendly activities.Aside from the slide on skates for the younger kids, there are old school skates and roller blades available to try as well. The thing that made the experience stand out to us was how friendly the staff was. The owner was helping us with skates, helping kids when they fell and all around just being wonderful and welcoming to every patron there. The rink is clean and well maintained while still having that great retro vibe. There is also a disco ball and some cool lighting effects. There is a snack bar with a variety of affordable items and a few small games, but I can't comment on their quality since we didn't take advantage of them (this time). We all had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back.

Excellent place for fun times with little kids and was even the place to be in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades when I was younger. It appears to still be a local hot spot for those age groups on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The Valarena is an awesome place. Very family oriented. The owners and his children are great. They take their time to make sure everyone is ok or need help putting on their skates. If someone is struggling to skate, they give you tips to help you out. They even offer days to skate for free through the app called myhownd. A very small fee you pay to skate there for free. The people who have put a couple bad review in on 2/22/25 are Fulse. The one family member who was an adult was skating erratically and keep falling and making a seen. The lady with the kid on a leash looked normal. This is a roller-skating rink not for people to walk on with a kid on a leash. The review for waiting for skate o well everywhere you have to wait. The girls were helping other on the rink.

These owners are very rude. They have charges against them for harassment and they have no compassion for special needs. The wife owns other business where she rips off her vendors as well. Terrible business owners.

Valarena is a fantastic place to bring your kids to skate. The owners go out of their way to make sure everyone is having a good time while also ensuring that it is a safe place to bring your kids which I really appreciate. Their birthday parties can't be beat and their Pizza is the best!

I took my very obviously Autistic 5 year old here last night for family skate night with my sister and her kids. When we first arrived I wasn't sure if he would be interested in skating but saw there was an option to buy shoe covers to walk on the floor. I chose this option because he loves the lights and music and loves to run around.Once we were on the floor we got about half way around and my son's shoe cover fell off. As I was putting it back on a guy in a staff shirt skated over to us appearing very annoyed and told us if we're going to be on the floor we need to stay out of the way of the skaters ( we intended to do this anyway and were moving at a fair pace when we were moving) after a couple laps my son showed interest in trying skates so I attempted to rent him a pair.It took several minutes to get someone to come to the rental window and when they did it was the same man that approached us on the floor with the same attitude he had the first time he saw us. We asked for skates and he told us no. I was stunned. My sister asked why and he said "I'm not putting skates on that kid" im looking around confused because it's a a FAMILY skate and there are kids younger then my son on skates. My sister asked " not even if his mom is with him?" The man said "no, I been watching the way that kid moves and I'm not putting wheels under him" (my son want unsteady, unstable, uncoordinated or unbalanced in any way, he was walking, running, and skipping sideways while flapping his arms and vocally stimming, he wasn't unsafe in anyway he just wasn't masking his autism) I told him I'm his mother and I know my child and his abilities. If I decided it's safe for him to have skates he should be allowed to have skates. He told me he doesn't have to give anyone skates if he decides not to and we didn't pay to even be on the floor anyway (we paid admission, bought the appropriate shoe covers provided by the venue and were actually trying to but being denied the opportunity to rent skates) He tried to make me go in some room or office to show me why he doesn't have to let my autistic child skate if he doesn't want to. I declined to be alone with a strange man that was discriminating against my special needs child and left instead.I will never go to this place again and I will tell anyone who will listen about our experience. My child just wanted to have fun and be included like everyone else and there was absolutely no reason to deny him that just because you can see his Autism
