Absolutely wonderful little place in downtown St. Clairsville. A true gem, and everything I've wanted and needed. A little French-looking bistro with other styles such as Asian, American, English. It is family owned; the walls are covered in their daughter's art. Beautifully decorated. I've been told by a few regulars that all of their dishes are excellent and finally got to try it out today. The owner was at the counter when I arrived and was very personable and really quite honest as well. She took the time to learn my name, and used it as she showed me around since I told her it was my first time in. She was very funny. I got the quiche and spring salad and it was deeeeelicious. The salad was very fresh with homemade candied walnuts and a raspberry dressing. The crust-less quiche was light and fluffy, excellent flavor and not over-done. I got a cappuccino that was a cappuccino. I was hoping for an alternate milk but they were out which is fine; this is a small area and I feel that not a lot of people ask for almond / oat milk here. I also feel that if I became a regular they're make sure they had it. I say this because another coupled dined near me and I could tell the owner took constructive criticism well from them in the past because she asked if their coffees were better this time. She also offered to make some toasted nuts without sugar for the gentleman, who was on a sugar free diet. The benefits of a small local business. Before I left, I got a box of some different pastries to try. So far I have sample the coffee eclair and it was absolutely delicious. the shoe pastry was delicate, the moose inside had a wonderful, coffee flavor, and the icing on top added a sweetness and richness that I really enjoyed.I will definitely be back, I really enjoyed my experience here and the food was so good. We don't have anything else like this in Saint Clairsville and it was very refreshing.

What a great addition to the Ohio Valley. I was very impressed with this place. When I come visit, I like to find something that isn't part of a chain. V Bistro is family owned and everything is made in-house. What is even better is that they have healthier, great-tasting options. I ate there for the first time last week and we were warmly greeted by the owner. She made some suggestions and highly recommended the chicken because it's so popular. I had the Buddha bowl and it was delicious. My mom had the Asian crispy chicken bowl. I can see why the owner recommended it--it's so juicy, crispy, and flavorful, and I love the sesame dressing that goes with it, which is sweet, savory, and umami. My daughter enjoyed the crepe and she said the strawberries were very sweet. We brought home a few pastries--the almond croissant was very fresh and flaky with a lovely almond paste inside, the blueberry muffin was moist and delectably dense with tons of blueberries inside, the walnut fig pastry was unique and scrumptious. I didn't get to taste the peanut butter brownie, but I was told it was very good with the right amount of sweetness. I live in a metropolitan city and I found V Bistro to be on par with and even better than many of the options that are offered in larger cities. They really pay attention to detail and make sure they are offering the best quality ingredients. I hope this small, family-run business is here to stay.
