Cashew Chicken

Handsome husband and I enjoy ordering takeout from Unique China. Their General Tsos is too much breading and not enough chicken so we wouldn't recommend ordering it. The cashew chicken is good. Portion sizes are decent for the price you pay. We usually can get two meals out of the large dinner portion. We got the dumplings for the first time and they were pretty good. Not amazing, but good. They also have a $25 credit or debit card minimum. I am self employed and so I know for a fact that every time a business processes a card transaction there is a fee they have to pay so I get it. I'd get $5 or $10 minimum but $25? That's a little unnecessary.

Was very pleased with our first visit here. The food was good, the prices were reasonable, and the people were very, very attentive and nice. Things we tried were the cold sesame noodles, the won ton soup, egg rolls, fried rice, chicken mei fun, orange beef, and the amazing chicken. Everything was good! The won ton soup and egg roll was ok, but not one of the best I've had. Still good though. Cold sesame noodles were very good, and just spicy enough. I probably won't get the orange beef again, as it was a bit soggy for my personal liking, but it was ok...just my personal opinion and what I like. However, the sauce on it was excellent! The amazing chicken, I think, had the same sauce on it. At least that's how it seemed. As for the mei fun, definitely one of my favorites I've had! Can't wait to go back and run some of their other stuff!

Chicken wings are amazing. Super crispy moist and flavorful. While wings. Big portions and fried rice was excellent. We were just passing through but if I lived anywhere close I would definitely eat here again

7/11/18 UPDATESince ending their delivery service, I can't actually recall the last time I've been there. That makes me sad, I've enjoyed their bean curd and supporting what I assume is a family run business, but I've found that if I'm going to exert the effort to drive somewhere for Chinese, I will go to Little Bamboo in Belle Vernon because they offer very fresh sushi and Japanese as well. Yes, I still thoroughly enjoy Unique China and their prices are MUCH better than Little Bamboo, but I'm a lazy homebody and if I'm dragging myself out for Asian sustenance, I'm going big. This would totally be different if I could just have my crab rangoons sent straight to my door again. Alas. Come back to Monessen. We aren't THAT bad. --------Third time reviewing because I eat way more Unique China than I'd care to admit. It's become a staple in my household - I'm talking several times a month. Not much delivers to Monessen aside from the nauseating array of pizza and hoagie stops, which get really old, really quickly, so it's bee really nice to be able to call and have something a little more ethnic, flavorful, and vegetarian delivered. SADLY, THEY'VE STOPPED.I called just now to place an order and was informed thusly. I paused my Game Of Thrones episode when I tried to order up some general tsao's tofu just now, so this should properly illustrate how absolutely heartbroken I am over hearing this news.Hey Unique China,PLEASE DELIVER AGAIN.Signed,Hungry across the bridge

This is a hard place to rate, because the people here really do try hard to make patrons happy. Everyone is friendly and very likable. The food is variable. The chicken stick appetizer is the best I've had, anywhere. But the main dishes are almost exclusively deep fried, even the cashew chicken. This gives them an interesting texture but somehow things don't feel quite right.I found that, unlike Little Bamboo, the best way to eat here is to give the chef a challenge. If you tell them exactly what you want, and it's unusual and different, they will rise to the occasion. If, that is, you remember all the details yourself. if you forget to ask for no broccoli, it's not their fault if they put in an extra serving, just to make you happy.I've been going here lately instead of Little Bamboo because I'll like the people. You probably will too. But the food, sadly, suffers from the Pittsburgh Restaurant Disease.

4 stars. The food is actually really good when they get the order correct. Actually placing your order is somewhat painful and frustrating. Ironically the folks taking your order are American and they are the ones hardest to communicate with. It is possible this might be a side effect of blue hair dye and many face piercings. The white meat General Tso is awesome. Beef anything is acceptable. Eggrolls... don't they all taste the same?Overall good food once the order is right!

I have never had a bad meal here. Everything comes out SO fresh and they are insanely fast at cooking your food....I swear I have never waited more than 5 minutes after ordering before my food was ready. The fried rice is actually brown in color and not yellow. Their lo mein is delicious and the crab fried wonton are very very good. I love coming here for quick service and fresh, delicious food. Yes it looks a little avoidable from the outside, but once you go inside and taste the food you will quickly erase any doubt you had about it.

The place has great food and great service, but the restrooms are gross. I would recommend going to the bathroom before you go.

Ordered a seafood platter dish that included lobster, crab, shrimp, and scallops (I can't remember the exact name of it now). I knew from previous experience that this place gave generous portions (with their General Tso's, which while a heaping portion, was sub-par), so I was excited to try this new dish. A great disappointment. Not only was it just loaded down with mixed vegetables, but the seafood was barely existent. A few small slices of crab, a few measly shrimps, a couple of scallops, and one very stringy, very tough sliver of lobster. I was terribly disappointed in this dish and I doubt I'll be back. I'll stick to Great Wall in town or even better, Little Bamboo.

My husband and I wanted to try a new Chinese restaurant and this was our choice. They are very reasonably priced, friendly, and the food is awesome. Their lo mein is hands down the best I have ever eaten!!
