Allison is amazing at the bar. Ask for the young woman who is wearing not her heart on her sleeve but her heart on her cheek. This young woman who is mastering her art behind the marble of the bar was nothing but impressive.. Surprise contest: Allison's manhattan was superb. Her dirty vodka: sublime. And then the Old Fashion which she admitted was her favorite blew our minds. Order one or all three!The talent of Chef Adon, Chef Laura, Chef Dougie...whom we did not have the pleasure of meeting personally, was well represented in this amazing meal which satisfied and surprised! Let's move to dinner. Trace is creating new paths by which to "Trace" your gastronomic adventures. What a bold expression of culinary delight! Hector, the manager of Trace, hails from Napa, California and is trying boldly to bring a new sophistication to Wheeling, VA. Hector and his Team don't want you to go to NYC, Pittsburgh, or anywhere else for amazing food, fantastic cocktails, or sublime attention to detail as you dine to forget your everyday and seek the special and sublime. The steak was superb! The lobster Mac and Cheese plentiful and as delightful as any comfort food I have ever had. And then the cocktails! Again! Quickened my heart and impressed my palate!! Come to the lodge for the romantic getaway in the quaint forest of West Virginia and make sure to ask for anyone named above and also Brandon who was adorable....funny, and an excellent server in his own right. Color me impressed. I hope to come back here soon if nothing else to have my expectations surpassed again and again! And these young people working hard to bring you joy and comfort. Come support them. Tip them generously. Fund and fuel their dreams of betterment. Don't y'all remember when you worked hard and dreamed of a better future????

Short rib was amazing, bread was perfect, and the feta Brussel sprouts were delicious. Great job kitchen and staff; thank you, Kyle! I'm so glad I caught a reservation before Trace temporarily closed for renovations.

Food and service were very good. A very cozy atmosphere. However, really pricy for the Wheeling area. $17 salads, $49 6oz Filet, and $16 for a 4oz wine. These are NYC and Boston prices. We were there on a Wednesday night and besides our table of 6 only another couple was in the restaurant. Try lowering your prices and/or adding a happy hour. Your prices need to be lower by 15/20% if you want to attract customers.

Very impressed by this elegant space! The service was amazing, the food was delicious! Everything is brand new. Would be a perfect spot for a special occasion or just a night out. We went with a group of 7 and had the best time! We are already planning another trip back. They just opened in August. The whole lodge area is nice to walk through.
