A remarkable pottery shop and clay studio. I was impressed by the quality and creativity of the pieces. There is a wide range of pottery available in every price range. The variety of different styles of pottery is another plus. Everyone will enjoy shopping here.

I took my 2 granddaughters to Ton Pottery for a pottery class. It was such a fantastic experience for us. The owner explained the process in detail and was very helpful thru the class. We made plates, cups and had fun. He kept the class small and provided the materials. We can't wait to go again. Mothers-he has "Baby and Me Classes. This is an added bonus to Pittsburgh's culture.

I bought a Living Social deal as a gift and the class was good/fun. However, the owner of Ton Pottery took money for shipping to mail the completed pottery once fired and never mailed a thing. The excuse was that they were moving and would ship once in their new location. They've been advertising new classes and are apparently open for business, however they don't accept phone calls at the number listed and have not responded to msgs on their Facebook page in several months. Please don't get duped like I did. Don't go to Ton Pottery. I'm sure you can find a more reputable place to spend your money.

My daughter has taken their kids classes, and then I was inspired to sign up for adult classes. It's been terrific. Dan and his assistant staff have been friendly, knowledgeable, and great teachers. The environment is easy going and fun. There's a great deal of flexibility and support, depending on what each individual needs. I'm so glad to be working on this new skill and artform with the folks at Ton.

Just visited their new Millvale location out of curiosity for what went into the old Jerry Kitman space. What a pleasant surprise! I love the "everyday art" that is pottery -- the opportunity to have a truly original piece be a part of your everyday life lends a bit of spirituality in a Walmart world increasingly filled with cheap, disposable, cookie-cutter imports. I tend to go straight to the pottery booths at places like the Pittsburgh Arts Festival and Penn's Colony and to pottery stores when traveling. The pieces in Ton's are just as high if not higher quality as any I've seen and many are even more eye-catching, and now available practically in my backyard. The classes seem a bit daunting -- I never thought I would consider something like that -- but I have to admit, they have appeal. I wonder what it would be like to use pottery that you actually made yourself.
