I hate to say but this was not my favorite axe throwing experience. We have visited 3 different axe throwing businesses and this was my least favorite. The axe throwing lane was shorter than the others and I'm not sure why but none of us were doing as well as we have in the past. The waiting area was also small. This wasn't a huge deal because we had 3 lanes to our party. I also hated the fact that it was so quiet in there! You had to pay to use the Juke box. Another thing that I did not like is they we were basically kicked out after our hour I had reserved. We weren't asked if we wanted to pay more for another hour which we would've definitely done because we were having a good time.

Went to Throw Pittsburgh in Homestead. If you are looking for a great night out on a date night or to host your next event this is a fun exciting activity. Upon entering you are teamed up with a coach that provides you detailed instructions on all the rules of the facility and the sport. The coach is there to work out all the problems with your throwing and will help guide you so you do succeed and not become frustrated with your throw while keeping a distance so you can also have a fun time. Bob was the instructor we had and he was wonderful and help my throw improve throughout the evening. You can either keep score which is similar to bowling or just throw and have a fun time. They allow you to bring in food and drinks... Aka alcohol, to make your time there more enjoyable.

If you're looking for a fun activity with a group of friends, this is a great option. I've been axe throwing at a few other places before that are a bit more structured. They teach you how to throw and work with you if you're having a difficult time, however, after that you're on your own. You can either keep score or just throw for fun, it's up to you. I'm a competitive person, so I like how other axe throwing places have a bracket style tournament, but it was also nice to keep throwing no matter what and not be knocked out. They're still partially under construction so lighting in some areas is darker. But it's cheaper than other locations to throw, which is great! The staff is friendly and supportive too. Great for larger parties and it's BYOB.

Lots of fun! We decided to go at the last minute on a Sunday. I called to make sure they could take us. I liked that they gave a lesson.

To start off, Bob came straight out the gate making his political views extremely well known. Within the first 5 minutes of entering the building he was voicing his outrage about the immigrants in NY (very random considering this came immediately after asking us where we were from). Bob proceeded to make fun of each person in our party- made fun of the spelling of my name, said another party member had a problem and was too tense, etc. Harmless jokes to break the ice are one thing, but these comments were too much/ too quick/ too often. Also I was shocked how much he pushed the "Venmo tip" considering he literally sat on his phone at the front desk during our entire one hour session. All things considered Bob was fine but the jukebox on the other hand is a complete scam. Spending $28 for background music for an hour is solely reason enough to not come back. Background music should be free!

I was just at a lovely small birthday gathering this evening and Dez was our guide! She was so much fun and very knowledgeable! With her guidance, I was able to learn the fundamentals of axe throwing enough to where I was able to have a really fun time! she led us through a couple of games to make the evening more exciting! Thank you, Dez!!

My husband and I had THE BEST time at Throw Pittsburgh @ the waterfront ! Bob was our coach, and he was so great. From the time we called to make reservation to walking out the door, he was so respectful of our time and accommodating beyond expectations...highly recommend !!

I convinced my husband to stop here early on a Sunday evening. It's a pretty simple concept, easy to learn but hard to master. It's probably better in a group. Also it's BYOB and BYOF which we didn't realize. At $20/person for 1 hour, the price is maybe a little steep. After all, you are literally just standing around and throwing axes. There is nowhere to sit. It is also a little hard to find because it's off the main drag and could use better signage. That being said, it was a fun way to kill an hour.

A sign at the door and their website say masks are required, but there wasn't a mask in sight when we got there.
