Had dinner here on December 31 at 5 PM stood for a minute or two. Waiting for the hostess (gabby) to turn around after I said, excuse me three times. Caught the attention of a waitress in the distance who made surewe were seated after the hostess walked away from us.Our waitress was Brianna. I think? Good service, but she didn't come back to check to see how our food was. Which it was very good. We both had gourmet grilled cheese with two beef patties and caramelized onions. My waffle fries were a little bit overcooked. But the sandwich in the soup made up for everything.I would suggest this place before or after any type of events in town if you want to keep it low-key.

We were downtown for Light Up Night and our usual spot (Redbeards) wouldn't even add us to a waitlist so we walked around and ended up at the Yard. There was a 45-60 minute wait but since they use OpenTable I was able to have them text when our table was ready. It was only about 35 minutes which was great. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our waiter was cheerful. The four of us ordered drinks and a few appetizers to share. Honestly their Buffalo Chicken dip was even better than Redbeards (and came with pita instead of tortilla chips - major bonus) so we may have found ourselves a new go-to spot. The drink I got was called "Let's Get Fizz-ical" and was similar to a mimosa. Delicious! Can't wait to come back to try more.

We had a larger group come in for an 11 AM reservation before the Steelers/Ravens game. We showed up early to try to be seated a little early to make sure we made it to the game in time. The hostess was really accommodating and made it work for our group despite the restaurant being fairly busy.Our server was Dani who got our drinks and took our orders quickly. I opted for the "basically bottomless" mimosas for $15. Dani kept them coming and my glass full! Most of our group opted to order off their grilled cheese menu (as opposed to the brunch menu). I got the "It's always sunny in Philadelphia" which had cheese, steak, peppers, and onions. Their grilled cheeses come with tomato soup and chips. I opted to sub my chips for waffle fries.My reason for taking off a star is that our food took almost an hour to come out. However, Dani checked in with us frequently to let us know that the kitchen was backed up and that our food should arrive soon. When the food arrived, I think overall everyone enjoyed their grilled cheese. I will say it looked more like a toasted sandwich than a grilled cheese - it didn't have the traditional grilled outside. I guess they just toast them or throw them in the oven rather than grilling them? It still tasted good but wasn't really what we expected. Overall, we had a nice time at brunch! The kitchen was backed up but they were busy so we understood. The service was what still made this an overall positive experience. Kudos to Dani, she was awesome!

Excellent date night. A bit loud but good was amazing and service was great. The hostess was miserable but the rest of the staff were great. The pretzel was soft and crunchy on the outside. Dips weee really good. Friend green tomato grilled cheese was outstanding. Chicken sandwich and fries were also a great choice. The arsenal cider was amazing.

We came on a weekend for lunch and they were quite busy. It took a while to be seated, but once we got seated service was very prompt. I like all things grilled cheese. I tried the Yinz Guys Hungry sandwich. It had great flavors, but fell short on the Pittsburgh theme. The waffle fries were soggy because it's next to a slice of tomato. There was also barely any Cole slaw on it. The grilled cheese toasts tasted so good though, it more or less made up for it. This looks like a great place to hang out. I would come back and try a different sandwich.

I normally have a great experience at The Yard this time not so much. I would blame it on the crowdedness but I've come during games and brunch without issue. This time there was an issue with my server getting food to us. It took him awhile to even take our orders and once he did he put one order in wrong. I would not even complain but I was with two little ones so the added wait caused a meltdown. I would not have even been bothered by the mistake had the correct food not been sitting in the window for some time while he conversed with two guests. We did finally get our last meal and was comped the cost of it. Although not expecting it it was appreciated. I tipped because he was nice but hopefully he will socialize less next time and focus on his table.

Only came in for a beer, possibly food. Walked in around 8:45, sat at the bar, no one else there. Ordered a cigar city IPA 3.00 special! Are you kidding me? Fantastic special for a good draft. Bartender was nice, but I got the vibe that he was trying to get ready for close. No worries, I'll just have a couple of beers and bail. Great deal!

Haven't been here in years. Was just there and it was exceptionally filthy in multiple areas. Take a look under your bar top. The mold growth is disgusting. Probably a million health code violations here. This place needs to close down and undergo a major deep clean to be acceptable. Food was okay. Staff seemed unhappy. Much better options elsewhere if visiting market square. Skip this location 100%
