The Whole Darn Thing Sub Shop

The employees and owner are super friendly and their sandwiches are delicious! Fresh ingredients, great bread, and an oven that is a true relic and has a super cool story. Their prices are amazing for the amount and quality of food you get! It's a Meadville icon. You must get a toasted sandwich from The Whole Darn Thing!

The large selection of subs is fun and even though I do switch it up sometimes, I like the survivor, and the turkey and cheese, while my husband likes the meatball sub. Waiting in line to place the order sometimes does take a little bit more time, but the service is always great and they listen to what you want. You can get any sub toasted or cold and you can ask for different cheese than what is normally on the sandwich. The inside is always clean, and the employees are always smiling and chatting and having a good time while making our food. If you are from out of town, it is definitely worth stopping by Whole Darn Thing instead of a chain sub shop. The herb bread is my absolute favorite. And if you are from out of town, please be patient and try to follow the ordering process. It is well worth the wait!

I was born in Meadville but have lived out of state for 15 years. I visit 2-3 times a year and the Whole Darn Thing is ALWAYS one of my first stops when I'm home. I adore this place and look forward to the toasted subs every time I'm here. I was just back in a few days ago and was reminded why I come back - service was stellar even though they were a bit slammed, and the subs were delicious and PACKED with all the goodies. Thank you for making my trips home extra special!

Submarine SandwichItalian Sandwich. Wonderful accommodating staff. Best food downtown for prices. Ready quickly inside or drive-thru. Call or fax. Large orders and groups are no problem. You will keep coming back!

Wonderful service, friendly, and down to earth. They make everything and cut the deli meat in house. It was really good. They gluten free option is a chefs kiss. Thank you :)

Hungry? Need something fast AND delicious at a great price? Here is your place. SUPER friendly staff willing to go above and beyond to make you smile. This is a Meadville staple for good reason. The subs are substantial, delicious and they don't skimp! You can walk in or call ahead for drive thru pickup. Never a disappointment! It is clean, well organized and welcoming. They make your subs right there for you to see. Parking is ample but don't forget to feed the meter. Right across from the historic Marketplace. So if you tour/shop the Market house, go across the street for a well deserved lunch. Well done folks, keep it going for many years to come please!

Subs are excellent - full of meat cheese toppings. They also have a gf option they toast open face and make into a sandwich panini. Friendly service - this place gets crowded!

The food here is great and the service is just as good. The girls are awesome, always happy to help the customers. Love coming here with my family. But dang is it hot in there. Air Condition should be put in the building, if us customers are hot i know them ladies are really struggling back there. Make sure you tip them girls good next time you stop by, they deserve it. ​

Great staff and menu with subs offered in 1/4, 1/2 or whole. I just had to try the Lobster roll and so glad I did! Loaded and on a toasted bun,very authentic, YUM. Will return gladly.
