The Ultimate Pastry Shop

I enjoy baking, and rarely buy from bakeries, but I was recovering from surgery recently and received several treats from The Ultimate Pastry Shop as alternative to flowers. Everything was fresh and very good, obviously made with quality ingredients. Prices were more than reasonable, as well. I will definitely return!

The Ultimate Pastry Shop opened in 1987. It bakes and sells desserts such as cookies, cupcakes, tarts, pies, and cakes. During my visit, in the display cases, I saw desserts such as blueberry cookies, danishes, raisin oat scones, raspberry muffin tops, sticky buns, apricot rugelach, banana bread, chocolate chip bread, peanut butter bars, cheesecake brownies, etcetera. I even saw a gluten-free option.My husband and I picked out several treats. An employee carefully wrapped and boxed them. The total cost was less than $10. Here are my ratings for the treats:Snickerdoodle cookie - 4 starsSugar cookie with icing and sprinkles - 5 stars - You might expect a sugar cookie to be plain, but this one tasted delicious.Chocolate chip cookie - 3 starsOatmeal raisin cookie - 4 stars Lady lock - 5 stars - My husband commented that he really enjoyed the buttercream icing inside.Cinnamon roll - 4 stars - This cinnamon roll was very dry, but after we put some butter on it and microwaved it, it became more moist. It had nice flavors.

Colorful pastry shop in Sewickley. They have a large selection of baked goods. Service was patient and friendly. Everything we tried tasted great. Worth a try if you are in the area.

My dad used to get my brother and I cinnamon rolls and brownies from this place some mornings 20 years ago. I cherished those mornings. It made getting ready for school kinda chill.I've been seeing family a lot lately and have been bringing snacks from this place and am amazed. I don't know how they achieve such big flavor-town. Particularly, their cinnamon rolls, peanut butter bars, and carrot cake bars are explosively flavorful. Everything is good - you really can't go wrong; even their simple strawberry and lemon iced cookies are delicious. Definitely worth sampling an assortment every once in a while (I didn't try the carrot cake bars since they dropped - perhaps 20 years ago - and regret it). Love the variety here and the average strength of flavor. Texture profiles are ubiquitously comfortingly soft. I am not going here for a grain bar.Great service. There are often five or ten customers in front of me, but I've never had to wait more than five minutes. After my 20 year hiatus, I figured they'd still be a cash-only place, but they take cards. I'd gladly keep cash on hand just to frequent this place.So friendly. I had family in town for the winter holidays, including my brother who had shared those pleasurable morning treats with me 20 years ago, and reaching the store a few minutes after they closed for their winter break - heartbroken - I found a sympathetic employee striding towards the door and willing to serve me last-minute.The best American bakery I've ever been to - peerless.

The absolute best! I usually hate things from bakeries, it all tastes the same. Not so at Ultimate! The BEST mousse cakes, we couldn't do a celebration without their fantastic cupcakes and I look for any excuse to stop in for the adorable, DELICIOUS cut out cookies. Who am I kidding, no excuse needed. The place is adorable and the people are as sweet as their wares

I ordered a cake for my dad's birthday- white cake, chocolate chip filling, and chocolate icing. It was delicious. Incredibly moist. It was perfection

I love this bakery! The staff is very professional, warm and accommodating. Fantastic pastries and cookies. They offer cakes for weddings, bridal showers and birthdays. This bakery can pretty much do what ever design you need! A little on the high end of the scale but well worth it. If you are ever in the sewickley area this place is a must.

I used to work in Sewickley and would always go to The Ultimate Pastry for their chocolate frosted brownies. I live out of state, but when I'm in Pittsburgh, I make a point to stop in for my brownie fix . . . 30 years later and still as yummy as they were when I got first got hooked on them.

The lady locks are by far the best I've ever had. The cream in the middle was sent to this earth on angel's wings from heaven.

The pastries are fresh, & delicious. They use high quality ingredients, the flavors are amazing. Nice variety of cookies, the snickerdoodles are perfect, crispy on the edges & soft in the middle. The rugelach cookies come in a variety of flavors, my favorites are the cinnamon & raspberry. The staff are friendly & helpful. The prices are reasonable.
