We stayed here for the first time this weekend and were not disappointed. The mansion itself is very charming and historic being built in 1870. The details in the decor was amazing! You could just walk around taking everything in for hours. We arrived around 5pm on Saturday and was greeted by Ed. I can't say enough about him. You can just tell he's a good person and really enjoys what he does. He gave us a tour and immediately made us feel right at home. I absolutely loved that there were two black labs on the grounds as well. They were both super friendly dogs! The room that we had was beautiful! It was also very clean which is always a plus. We had a very nice bay window that looked out onto the North Side. There was also a working fireplace that was nice to have during the night. We were served breakfast in the dining room area that was very good. Ed made sure to make us comfortable and shared a few interesting stories with us before the other guests arrived for breakfast. Once the other guests arrived we all sat together and had a lovely conversation. It's nice to hear others experiences and suggestions on where to go and what to see. This place made me never want to go back to the more traditional chain hotels! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be back for sure.

Our family stayed the night at The Parador Inn. We had a restful sleep and comfortable accommodations. Shout out to Ed Menzer, Owner/Manager of this amazing Inn who provided us excellent service. Oh by the way, their breakfast was so flavorful and coffee was very good. I highly recommend this place to stay whenever you are in Pittsburgh.

Easy to get to from the highway & less than 3 min from Heinz field, Rivers Casino, or Carnegie Science Center. RARE free off Street parking! Spacious rooms framed in beautiful architecture! The woodwork is amazing! Library! Parlor! Piano! The host was very kind, thoughtful, and easy to talk to about the home's history, our visit, etc. This is a real GEM that we will be booking for a future stay.

Great place to stay, Ed is a great host. Breakfast was very good. Only complaint was the top floor didnt have much heat. Will be back. Walking distance to Heinz for my fellow Steeler fans.

It was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast, so I'm not sure how it compares to other ones but everything was great! The house was built in 1870's and has been kept in pristine condition - it definitely sets the atmosphere and mood for the place. Each room has its' own "theme", I stayed in Chenille with a huge tub and an antique sink, the shower was alright - very low water pressure and took forever to warm up.Ed runs Parador along with two friendly dogs (that don't go past the kitchen, so no biggie if you're allergic). He's very hospitable and told me a few bits about the city and it's history in the morning. Breakfast was good - coffee, oj, banana bread and yogurt parfait, and a whole-wheat veggie egg wrap served with bacon, sour cream and bean/salsa thing. I'd highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting.

Honestly, I feel a little torn and somewhat selfish because I strive to keep hidden gems hidden, but because this awesome Inn is in plain sight in the most historic neighborhood blocks away from parks and museums and the stadiums, It'd be foolish to try. The vibe and food are great, but the secret of any inn is the Innkeeper. Ed knows his neighborhood, people, and his special Inn. The contents inside are museum quality. You'd be hard-pressed to stay in an Inn with furniture, lighting, quality and ambiance elsewhere. RJ and Rayzette, the warm Labs that make the stay more inviting are so sweet. The large courtyard is a welcome retreat and makes you feel special, but the warmth of the innkeeper was so much a bonus. Ed, thank you. I'll be back.

Antiques, animals, and reggae are some of my favorite things. The Parador has all three and more! My husband and I stayed because we were in town for a concert and our accommodations surpassed our expectations. The vintage architecture, ornate details, and the added eclectic Caribbean vibe is fantastic. Ed was very welcoming and we could see immediately upon entering our room that cleanliness is a top priority there. We will definitely be back!

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast. The beautiful 19th century mansion is beautifully preserved and furnished with antiques. Ed, the proprietor, is friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He serves lovely homemade hot breakfasts. Our room was large and clean, and had in-room coffee, which was greatly appreciated. This is a great place from which to explore the interesting Northside neighborhood, with its streets of Victorian houses and quirky museums. It also seems convenient to the sports stadiums - but we did not partake. The (free) Allegheny T stop is only a few blocks away, making it easy to explore the rest of the city too. If you stay here, don't miss the Refucilo wine bar down the street, which offers delicious wines from Argentina, accompanied by tapas.

My husband and I recently returned from a wonderful stay at the Parador, where we joined our son and daughter-in-law, who were there for the entire week for a work trip, and had given the inn rave reviews. We all thoroughly enjoyed the Parador, which boasts an intriguingly unique blend of whimsy and elegance in its Victorian mansion infused with touches of Caribbean style. Our rooms were beautiful - as was the garden with its amazing assortment of tropical plants. Ed is the consummate host, aided by his terrific assistants, his two friendly black labs. The surrounding neighborhood is filled with great restaurants, wine bars and coffee shops - and the breakfast served at the inn is the perfect way to start your day. The free parking is an added bonus. We'll be back for sure.

I wanted to stay in Pittsburgh with my husband and parents for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning to start a new tradition for our family. It's a tall order to find a place open then not to mention one that is charming and does something special for the holidays. I combed dozens of reviews for many many places before I settled on The Parador. I am so glad we stayed here! To address the negative reviews as they had initially concerned me- don't be worried! Ed was delightful. He has put his heart and soul into making The Parador a one of a kind and exceptionally beautiful atmosphere. Treat it and Ed with respect- keep in mind you are not staying in a chain hotel- and there will be absolutely no problems. Ed went out of his way to make sure we had an excellent stay. Breakfast was delicious; he had discount tickets we were able to purchase for our trip to Phipps Conservatory for the holiday light and flower show; and he regaled us with stories about the area, house, and items within. Ed even let us stay longer on Christmas in front of the tree to exchange gifts. It was the perfect atmosphere for a delightful family tradition. I highly recommend staying here!
