I loved the naked egg and would happily go back.+ Food. We got omelets, pancakes, and the banana French toast. The omelet was nice, the spongy pancakes were quite wonderful. The banana bread French toast was fine. The corned beef hash was also good.+ Ambiance. Very busy diner, clean and well done.+ Service. Affable and quick, considering how much we ordered and how busy it was. My rating system.5 Think about going back constantly, great restaurant4 am happy to go back, visit often3 will go back if a friend suggests it2 will go back with strong coaxing1 will not go back

Cute, small place off the road from Huntingdon and State College. Has the "locals" vibe.Service is attentive and friendly. Eggs benedict is decent. Good, but not great. Skip the home fries and go with the tots. The home fries seemed more like the leftover burnt hashbrowns and nothing close to home fries.

We moved to the area recently and many people we spoke to mentioned the Naked Egg. In retrospect I think they were using the place as a landmark rather than ever recommending the place for eating. But because of all the cars parked there on occasion, we got the impression that it was a trendy spot (???) so we had breakfast there once a few weeks ago. The place was a bit empty but service was very slooooow. The "vibe", which I saw mentioned here, was like an old luncheonette. Looks like all the furniture was leftover from when it was an ice cream parlor decades ago, or picked up at an auction. No warmth or great smells, or interesting decorating - it was drab, dingy, shabby. Not shabby-chic, just shabby. The food matched - drab, tasteless, a little cold, and way too expensive for the plainness of the menu. What the crowds are there for, I know not. I'd prefer my own breakfast at home. Oh how I wish Watkins Dariette was still there. Great soft ice cream, delish burgers....

The service was great and the cafe is a cute little place randomly situated on the side of the road. However the food leaves a lot to be desired. Eggs Benedict was awful. The sauce was separated, leaving a runny mess. The corned beef hash was from a can. So much lost opportunity here to use locally-sourced products. Wish I could say our meal was better. Would be better to stick with typical breakfast meals- eggs, pancakes, etc

Visited Naked Egg Cafe a few days ago. I ordered the standard breakfast of eggs, bacon and home fries. Can't do much to mess up that order. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy which is his standard fare wherever we go; however, this gravy contained onion and garlic which was so strong it overwhelmed the flavor of the sausage gravy. Who ever heard of sausage gravy with onion and garlic?!?! It has soured us on returning to the Naked Egg Cafe.

Our trip to the naked egg was fantastic..Our meal was thoughtfully prepared in a chic café.. it was busy! But there's plenty of tables and we were seated quickly.. the food was fantastic. Far better than basic breakfast fare and worth the quick drive from state college... don't tell anyone about this place!

We were on the road and every breakfast place was only open at 8am, Naked Egg was open at 7am, had good reviews, and pictures so we checked it out. Great discovery! The menu had some unique items like crab Benedict's and banana French toast. They were flexible enough to create an omelet with crab meat, cheese, & tomato which was excellent. Our waitress Rachel Lynn (ironically same first and middle name of my wife ) was friendly, knew the menu and even swapped our coffee when it wasn't hot enough. My Rachael had biscuits & gravy and a latte that was very good. Their coffee is unique as well so don't feel you need to go to a coffee shop. Very good experience and highly recommend the Naked Egg!

The food was amazing and the service was great our waitress was very tentative but the wait time was terrible. I understand it's a small restaurant but we waited outside in the cold for 45 minutes while parties that came before us were seated first. When we finally asked how much longer we would be waiting they told us "we don't know" very disappointed in this. These were not people that were in line before us we watched them walk up to the counter and put their name with the same party size as us.

Top 3 breakfasts I've ever had!!! Amazing! Friendly, hardworking, quick staff. Super clean restaurant - love all the natural daylight. Excellent coffee. Reasonable prices for HUGE servings. Got the Hot Mess...looks a mess but a scrumptious one! And it tastes even better. Seasoning on shrimp was perfect; grits were silkiest creamiest ones ever; eggs perfectly done, gravy was light and flavorful. Kudos to the chef!! Our server Nelson was so kind, friendly, fast, and super good at what he does. We will come back every time we're in area. There's so much more on menu we want to try....but it'll be hard not ordering that Hot Mess again and again and again!
