The Legendary Neff Haus Ice Cream

Line moved fast....lots of choices. Felt slightly overwhelmed and torn between trying the cookie dough or the cloud. Decided to try the cloud today but will def try the cookie dough next time! Cute seating outside with cozy lighting. I arrived in the dark so it was hard to tell where to park but there is a lot across the street. My dessert tasted like fall and was a generous portion for a fair price. Would recommend trying if you are the fence! Definitely not your average ice cream shop and workers were extremely friendly!

~ I had heard lots of good things about this place, and have been wanting to try it out. Yesterday, we were traveling on I-79, and we had already had our dinner, so I asked my wife if she wanted to stop, and she said yes, so we got off the highway, and a few minutes later we made it to Historic Harmony Pennsylvania, home of THE Legendary Neff House (Built in 1807 (Remodeled recently after being purchased in 2019 (and turned into an ice cream shop))). My wife is Gluten-free, and she enjoyed a Chocolate and Vanilla twist in a bowl. I had one of the famous "Cloud" creations in the flavor of Key Lime Pie .... Mmmmmmm . . . Sooooo Gooooood !!!! To quote the sign, "Feels like a vacation," and it did actually taste like I was on vacation!! YUM!!! WE WILL BE BACK . . . Cheers!

This is more than an ice cream shop; this is a destination. I live in the South Hills so this is a solid 45-minute drive for me, but well worth it. I was here last year for the first time and haven't stopped raving about it. Made a recent trip to Zelienople for another restaurant and was super disappointed this hadn't opened for the season yet at the time. So happy to finally have some time free to go back!First let's talk about the historic village of Harmony, a settlement established in 1804. Neff Haus is right in the middle of the historic district and it's fun to walk around the area and read the plaques about the history. You can scan a code and learn more about the connection to George Washington and the French and Indian War. The Harmony Museum is right on this street as well and great architecture including a beautiful church and restored log cabin.After you're done exploring, it's time to get down to business and get in line at the ice cream window. If it's a nice day and peak time, you will have a little wait, but the staff here really keeps it moving!They are famous for their creamy soft serve, and it would be delicious on its own, but you are here for something unique. That's why you should absolutely go for one of their cloud toppings, which are like fluffy balls of cake and come in many standard and rotating varieties atop your soft serve, or the heavenly cookie dough, which there are also many varieties. The cookie dough is a whole ball of cookie dough on top of your ice cream. Amazing, and I've never had anything like either of these anywhere else.Absolutely take your ice cream to eat in their outdoor garden which is beautiful. At night it comes alive with lights and there is a plaque talking about the legend of the fairies here, whom you can spot in the trees overhead, where there is a little walking trail over a bridge.I also noticed there is a new-looking popcorn shop behind the ice cream shop. I had my dogs along so did not feel like it would be OK to go in, since they didn't appear to have an outside window like the ice cream. I love to see small businesses thrive, so hope people will give that one a try, too!

Best ice cream ever. Tried the strawberry pretzel cheesecake cloud and the dulce de leche macadamia nut cloud as well. Both were amazing. Seriously the best ice cream you'll ever have. Also did the Neff Haus ghost tour. Basically just a night-time guided tour through the streets of Harmony to learn about the history and ghosts of the town. Twas a good time. Great history lesson if that's your type of thing. No ghosts spotted unfortunately.Overall, 10/10. Love this place. Wish I lived closer.

We decided to try Nee Haus on a hit and humid summer day. We seemed to time it perfectly as only one person was in line before us when we arrived. I've been seeing their Facebook posts and thought we need to try this place. It's located in Harmony and has a parking lot across the street. They had several specials the day we went. I opted for the peanut butter cookie dough ice cream. It was soft serve with a big scoop of cookie dough planted on top. It was good, but I felt that it needed broken up and stirred to mix. My daughter also tried a cookie dough. My wife on the other hand opted for cookie down and brownie batter heated with soft serve on top. That was a better way to have it. The shop has a nice seating area in the rear that provided shade from the blazing sun. There seemed to be a popcorn shop in the back of the property too. Interesting place with some unique offerings.

The novelty of the clouds are fantastic. Basically soft serve vanilla with a topping, then they top that with a scoop of what is essentially whipped cream with a mixin like cheesecake. Very good but wow, is it filling.

After several additional visits here over the last year, I can't justify anything under 5 stars. They've grown their menu substantially and while I still don't prefer the basic soft serve ice cream with the flavor "streaks," everything else hits home.In particular, they have these "cloud" cups which consist of a mousse like topping with cake mixed in, sitting on top of ice cream. In particular, the banana with strawberry drizzle was one of the most delicious dessert items I've had at an ice cream shop in a lonnnnggg time.The staff is always very pleasant and their prices are downright cheap for the serving sizes. If you go around back they have a shaded patio area to sit as well.

One thing is certain, the Neff Haus is legendary with its uniqueness. I tried the Key Lime Cloud and was very pleased with my choice. This Cloud is Flavorful, fluffy, and had the consistency with a little texture. My only complaint is that when I finished my Key Lime Cloud, I wanted more! If you're looking for something different from the normal ice cream then definitely try Neff Haus.

Can't go wrong with anything on their menu but the strawberry pretzel cloud might be one of my favorite things to ever be created! The staff is always friendly and the back patio is very relaxing to sit and enjoy your ice cream at. The ice cream is so creamy and not to mention their serving sizes are HUGE!

This is a little gem nestled in Harmony. Here you will find the most unique soft serve flavors and combinations. If you need a scoop of COOKIE DOUGH on top of your soft serve, this is your place. If you'd rather have a gigantic chocolate peanut butter buckeye on top, that's an option too. I visited during the week, so service was quick and there was no line. The outdoor patio was cute and filled with flowers...it's located next to a bike trail too! I love it here and I can't wait to come back.
