Having lived in New Castle now for over 5 years, I'm convinced the people here live on another planet when it comes to food. First off, google the had said on November 16th 2024 that this restaurant opens at 11 am. I get to the restaurant shortly before then and a young man came out and asked me to roll down my window. He explained that they actually opened at 11:30 and that apparently some old manager was the only one who had access to the google and never changed it after they left. I decide to just sit for 30 minutes in the parking lot as going all the way back home just to turn right around would've wasted gas.Magically later that day the time on google was set to 11:30 so either the young man lied or they contacted the ex manager. I digress, anyways the place was overflowing and packed to the gills which I didn't find surprising given I've heard rave reviews about this place but I noticed that around 75% of the clientele were senior citizens. Even though I didn't have a reservation, I was seated very quickly. The server and the host were all very polite and friendly. The food however was disgusting. They bring you ice cold cheap wonder type bread with little butter packets wrapped in cheap napkins. I ordered a "large" cavatelli plate. The cavatelli was gummy, mushy, and over cooked to the point it was falling apart. The sauce was bland and watery and tasted like it was from a can. The gummy gluey pasta with bland sauce made sense to me given the large amount of elderly people eating there but for a younger person like me it was terrible. I have no idea how this place gets rave reviews, it's a shame, the service was great and the prices were very reasonable. Will not be back.

Best homemade pasta for miles around, only drawback is you can only eat it once a week

Previous had the best wedding soup in town. Unfortunately the quart I got to take home had no pasta in it, and a mere 5 tiny meatballs. Mostly it was big hunks of escarole and celery. Do you have to go earlier than 3:00 to getthe good soup? Virginia L. 8/4/2024

Worst service EVER. Do NOT waste your time trying to place a takeout order. You will wait (outside) for 20-30 minutes past your scheduled pickup time, and even then half the time the order still isn't ready. They could hire elementary school children to run the place more efficiently. Save your time, patience, and $ and just go somewhere else to eat. They truly don't care if you order from them or not

The pasta is good. The sauce is great. I like the option to purchase the sauce and pasta and prepare during the week for a quick easy dinner. They are busy when they're opened so don't expect immediate service but the service is great considering.
