We stopped by on a Saturday night around 7:30pm to check out their Holiday Lounge pop up on the second floor. I'm not sure if their decorations really fit the theme but they were really pretty. It was absolutely PACKED inside and it was clear they needed more staff at the bar. The line stretched from the bar to halfway through the room and it's not a small room. We waited in line for quite some time. The drinks themselves were fine although I did like the cups they came in. We ordered the pigs in a blanket and two of them were $12 which is a rip off. The cocktails were also pricey for what they were at $15, especially when you have Miracle, Sippin Santa, and Bridgertahn nearby all with $12 cocktails that were higher quality.

The tree isn't the only thing getting lit this year!!!The Holiday Lounge, a retro Holiday cocktail lounge, is located inside The Industrialist Hotel. This pop-up features old holiday displays, bright, colorful lights, pink and silver Christmas trees and classic 1950's cocktails. Such a fun twist on a Christmas pop-up, old-style and classy! They have an incredible cocktail lineup and delicious bites. Tried a few cocktails, obsessed with the names:Rosemary ClooneyKauffman's Thumbprint CookieThe GrinchYou'll Shoot Your Eye OutThey offer an array of small bites, the cheese ball comes with three different combos and it is super good- cranberry & herb was fantastic

The Industrialist is an old office building transformed into a hotel. The check-in desk is on the second floor. Rooms are not huge but not NYC small either. The decor is... industrialist: modern, camel-colored furniture with dark gray tones on walls and decor. The bed was comfortable and despite facing the street, we did not experience a lot of noise. The room was very warm when we arrived, so we tried to crack open the windows since they looked like residential windows and had latches. Unfortunately, the windows are sealed shut, so we switched the A/C on and cooled the room that way. (It was unseasonably warm in Pittsburgh for December.) The only thing I didn't like was how loud the Heating/Cooling unit was. The compressor was above the bathroom ceiling and it was LOUD. We had to close the door to the bathroom at night and you could still hear it. If you're a light sleeper, beware. Overall, I enjoyed our stay and would stay here again... or at the very least visit their cocktail bar on the main floor (it was beautifully decorated with retro Christmas decor).

A gorgeous holiday pop up bar. They switch their holiday theme two years in a row and both were gorgeous. The hotel itself is clean and well staffed. I always go back for the pop up bar! They also have a cherry blossom one too.

Taking the long drive into Michigan for a business trip, decided to cut it halfway and stop overnight in Pittsburgh.Had never been so was excited. And the vibe of Pittsburgh-If you're a person who wants to experience a city without the city, check it out, lololol.Has the feel, but none of the traffic and chaos.Anyways-Decided to stay downtown Pitt and find a unique hotel. Found it at The Industrialist!!Easy to navigate to. I parked in the garage around the block (rental car- no offense valet). The valet and doormen are in the first floor and direct you to the second floor for check in.That was a quick process and I was given a room on the 14th floor.I had a view of the city. But the windows were above my sight line, so difficult to gaze away. The room was Handsome!!! Loved the interior aesthetic! Gold fixtures, well decorated.I had 2 lightbulbs out in my room- overhead and right side bed, but no bother.I enjoyed the couch at the bottom of the bed with the pull out table. Got some work done and was comfortable. The bed felt Awesome!! Housekeeping made the bedsheets so tight, I felt cocooned.Loved the motion light that came on as you passed by the vanity at night! Large full length mirror in the room. TV was easy to use. And very importantly- the AC unit- worked great!! Any temperature adjustments I made adapted quickly!!And the room was quiet. The room is small- but that's expected going boutique. So for two people would say it's too small. The four stars would be for price (a little steep, my stay on a Wednesday in January was $345), the bad restaurant offering- see my Rebel Room review. And the bit of confusion I felt when first walking into the building. This is a recommend for a fun, hip hotel in Pittsburgh with easy city access!

I've been a frequent visitor to Pittsburgh for some time now. One of the things I have noticed about the hotels is that many occupy historic buildings with great beauty and interest, yet the rooms and lobby do not do the architecture justice. This hotel is no different. The rooms are dark--think a cave-- with dark walls, ceiling, tile--even black tinted glass in the shower. It's nearly impossible to get ready and even more so to see if the space is actually clean. The air conditioning never quite cooled the room, and the road noise is glaringly loud--even on the top floor. I rate it three stars for the staff and the location.

Fraud. They took my money and refused to refund a room I did not even stay in. Absolutely horrible experience!! Seemed very unique at first. Until I realized how small the rooms are. The bed is tiny. The bathroom toilet and shower have no privacy. I was on a work trip with a colleague and the front desk refused to accommodate. There was not even a couch to sleep on separate. Very awkward to think my coworker and I would have no privacy to shower or use the restroom. I stay at Marriotts frequently for work. This was the worst Marriott experience. I had to leave the hotel and not even spend the night.

Having stayed at most of the Marriott properties in downtown Pittsburgh, I was excited to check out The Industrialist, an Autograph hotel. The hotel's developers converted a 1912 skyscraper into a 124-room boutique hotel. I received a warm welcome when I arrived on Sunday. Given my Marriott status, I received a too upgrade and a voucher for a cocktail at the hotel's ground floor restaurant/bar called The Rebel Room. My room on the ninth floor looked out towards the river, probably about five blocks away. The rooms aren't huge, but are super comfort and beautifully decorated. I loved the rainforest shower, but just wished it had a bit more pressure. Located in the Arts District, the hotel is in a prime location to lots of restaurants, shopping and performing arts. It's also one block away from the PNC Bank corporate headquarters. The Rebel Room has a small dining footprint and a limited menu. My Steak Frites were perfectly prepared and served quickly. I was really surprised by the spacious workout room and variety of equipment available. At the end of my stay, I just liked the vibe this place has, plus its super friendly staff.

This hotel has an interesting history, but it is not a premium hotel. It's not really in a "bad" neighborhood, but I would be careful walking around at night, especially if you are not experienced in urban environments or not prepared to defend yourself. My wife and I (both very experienced travelers) decided it would be a good spot to visit the Christmas markets. What prompted the low one-star rating was our horrible customer service experience. You can check my other reviews- I don't complain often, but I would tell a friend who was thinking about staying here to find something else. Maybe a place that understands "hospitality" and what it really means to be a premium hotel. If you are going to spend good money, get the good service you are paying for.
