The Gyro Place

Three and a half stars. It's tough to ruin a gyro, though I've witnessed the crime. This one is good. A bit dry. Certainly not the best, and not the worst. Friendly people. Plenty of parking.

This place is everything I wanted and more. It's over in the heart of Canonsburg and it has so much character from the food to the interior to the staff. Bonus points for easy access parking.The food was delicious and filling, too. We ordered a couple of gyro salads and a gyro combo to-go. The smells in the car were amazing. The gyro salads came with both Greek dressing and tzatziki sauce, as well as a generous portion of creamy and well-seasoned feta. Really, really good. The gyro combo wasn't for me, but I snuck a couple of the fries included and they are my favorite type of fries where they are cooked so that they're extra crispy. Overall, really cool place. Can't wait to be back!

I get delivery from here when I'm at my sister's place. I've had the chicken gyro and the taziki platter. I get rice pudding for dessert. All the food was great and the delivery was fast and smooth.

I was hungry and driving past and noticed this little hole in the wall. Had good reviews so I decided to try it. My mistake. I wasn't in the mood for a gyro, maybe I should've ordered that. Instead I ordered the fish and fries sandwich combo. Totally inedible! Fries are super soggy and looked like they might have been sitting in the oil. The fish filet itself broke apart when I lifted from the bread. All tasted like oil and had no seasoning.... not even a hint. Will not be coming back and will not be recommending. Absolutely disgusting. If I could give it a negative rating, I would.

Authentic AMAZING Greek food. Found this little gem driving through town and will be going back!

Great gyros, but I really love the gyro salad! Big portions, consistent quality and flavor.

This place is awesome. I rarely give 5 stars but I can't speak highly enough about the Gyro Place. The location is in canonsburg, right off of pike street. Other reviews say this is a "dive, or whole in the wall" - when I hear those things I normally would think "dirty". however, even though this place is tiny & very outdated it is kept extremely clean. The owner is great, always happy to get business & definitely goes out of his way to make sure that his food is prepared and served fresh. Yesterday I got the veggie gyro, at lunch time I walked in to order & my food was ready in less than ten minutes. For less than $7 I got a gyro that was so big I needed to eat it with a fork.I would highly recommend this place.They do not have alcohol, and like I said the seating in this place is pretty outdated so I don't know if This would be considered a "date night spot" but regardless it's a great place to pick up a quick bite or call ahead.

Great little restaurant on West Pike St in Canonsburg, PA. Its the mom and pop little places you almost always get the best food! This place is no exception. I had the stuffed Grape Leaves, the leaves are slightly tart tasting with some lemon sprinkled over them. Filled with a meat and rice mixture, 5 to an order, very tasty. I like to dip them in a Tzadziki sauce from the gyro. I had the traditional Gyro, a huge half pound of lamb, seasoned perfectly, tender, juicy. My mouth watered watching the meat being carved fresh. I love pita bread, soft and chewy. I get lettuce and onions on mine. The Tzadziki sauce, homemade, creamy, was awesome!!! If you love Gyros, you'll love these. They also have steak, chicken gyros, dinner plates. Awesome Gyros!!!!

Located in a strip mall in downtown Canonsburg. Private parking lot. Limited seating and definitely what I would consider a hole in the wall. You order off of the two menu boards and take a set while they prepare the food.Great food, huge portions. The gyros are stuffed full of meat. Most places use the lettuce as filler, this place has the meat as the filler! The way it should be. I would suggest more tzatziki sauce, though. Prices are reasonable, not cheap, but you are getting a stellar product. They offered a military discount too.

Fantastic friendly service! Had the Grilled Chicken salad and it was quite good. The "small" is huge! Hubby had Gyro and pronounced it "very good". Charming. I stole a couple of his fries and they were perfectly cooked - crisp on the outside, fluffy soft on the inside. Great lunch stop.
