The Grouse's Nest

I've been here a few times before with friends. It's never been great but this last time was bad. At dinner time the place was almost empty. Only three other tables and one or two customers at the bar. After being seated by the hostess and waiting a few minutes, the bar tender came to take our orders. We each ordered drinks, soup, appetizers, and a meal. Then we waited. After about 15 min and no one coming to the table to check on us, I went to the bar to ask about our appetizers. I was told they were coming. About 10 minutes later dinner came out. No appetizers, no soup. We asked to cancel the items we hadn't yet received. They came out 10 minutes later and the waitress (we now has a waitress instead of the bartender) told us we would not be charged for those items but we could have them anyway. They were left untouched on the table. I ordered the Grouse Burger (a hamburger) with fries but added cheese and mushrooms for an upcharge. At least the fries were good. The burger was very greasy and the slice of cheese was so melted there wasn't much left to it when it was served. The mushrooms were canned. Others at the table complained their food was over salted. The bartender (now we had a bartender instead of a waitress) eventually came back and asked us how it was. We asked for refills on drinks (no one had asked about drink refills before now). He came back a minute later and refilled water glasses but nothing else. We then called him back and again asked for the drinks. He came back with a bunch of plastic cups with ice from the bar and put some soda cans on the table. About 10 minutes later we asked for our check and the waitress (now we had a waitress instead of a bartender) brought them. At least they did not change us for the soup and appetizers that came late and were not eaten. Very disappointed in just about everything, I asked my friends why we came here tonight. They responded because they knew it wouldn't be crowded. Now I know why. I won't be going back anytime soon. I would personally rather wait in line for an hour than go to some place where the customers are an afterthought and the burgers aren't even as good as fast food.

Service was very good - I got the caprese chicken and subbed broccolini for pasta. Was very tasty high quality food - but was barely room temp. Not a lot of chicken but huge serving of broccolini.

I cannot speak for the dinner menu but our lunch was terrible. We ordered a cheeseburger, flatbread, and appetizers. Everything tasted like it was frozen, microwaved, bland, and low quality meat. We were nauseous afterwards. We also had to wait to receive our appetizers as they were "burned the first time" and it was also a long wait to order our meals and get the check. Unless you are just there to drink...I do NOT recommend
