The Grill at River Forest

Located along Butler Freeport community Trail. You must try the provolone wedges unbelievable! They are made in house from scratch and they are huge. We are also going to get the fish cod tacos but after provolone wedges $10 we were stuffed. By the way we had the fish cod tacos before and they also are huge and very very tasty. We ride here on our Electric Bikes which takes us about an hour. Almost everything is made in house.

Dear Future diners. My Mother in Law decided to take my Wife and I out to celebrate my birthday. We selected Lilly's as the restaurant has been open a while and we hoped that they shook out the kinks and newbie issues that often occur while opening a restaurant. When we arrived we found the "new dining" room empty, with a few golfers drinking at the bar. The dinning room was clean but without ambiance. We seated ourselves as the sign asked us to, and I began to feel a sense of dread. Our server appeared to be new to the restaurant business but very pleasant, albeit a little clumsy in her approach and presentation. While taking our order my mother in law (who is on a restricted diet) asked for a plain grilled chicken breast with vegetables. The server recommended the blackened chicken and vegetables with the blackening, sauce, bacon, noodles removed from the dish. We thought great! My wife (a vegetarian) ordered the quinoa spinach and avocado salad with Lime vinaigrette. The server told her that they were out of the lime vinaigrette, and may not have the avocado. My drink had a lime, so I was confused as to why they couldn't make some more. But this was the only thing on menu that she would like to eat. I myself, as it was my birthday chose the Ribeye steak medium rare, with vegetables and "crispy potatoes". Our salads came for my mother in law and myself, and while I enjoy a wilted warm salad, I did not enjoy the salads that were prepared some time in the past week and placed in the reach-in wrapped in plastic. The salads were not stunning. But barely adequate for a first service. Dinner was served with my mother in law receiving the blackened chicken with everything except the blacking and the vegetables. She simply could not eat what was placed before her. This dish was returned to the kitchen for repairs. My dinner arrived and I was told that the French fries were coming. I wondered about the "crispy potatoes" and was disappointed in the typical French fries. I cut into my steak with long anticipation as I don't eat beef that often, and was disappointed to find a well done ribeye. Upon return of my mother in laws dinner, which was returned with vegetables, however they were the oversized planks (*VOUS) of zucchini and squash that when lifted with a fork flopped over and splashed onto the plate. The veggies on both my steak and the chicken breast (which was returned soaked in a salty solution) were cold and without form. I returned my steak for a medium rare steak and "warm" veggies. Still waiting on the "crispy potatoes". My mother in law had two bites of the chicken and could not eat anymore. I myself ate what I could of the raw to medium cooked gristle filled ribeye. My wife's quietly ate her dinner with ranch dressing. The salad came with two spoonfuls of quinoa and a plate full of spinach and one Tomato that was cut into impossibly large chunks. The server kindly discounted my steak, and did not charge for impossible chicken, we left slightly hungry and disappointed. VOUS - Vegetables Of Unusual Size

I have been to Lily's a few times since it's opening and am a big fan of the place! Staff is friendly and the owners are very open to feedback on the food & your experience. Tip: the Sangria is a must, and do not skip dessert.

Went there for a birthday dinner and showed up at 6 placed appetizer order 6:10 came out at 7:15Order food- steak taco $7 left at 7:40 and still wasn't ready . Family stayed food came out 7:50 wings were burnt . Taco had 3 tiny pieces of cheap steak and some lettuce which was wilted from heat lamp. And some sauce on a small soft shell. Burgers were edible. Service was ok . Waited almost 2 hours for below average food with above average price.

We enjoyed sitting outside with a beautiful view and delicious dinner.Linda was very friendly also.

The food is good and the service from the bar is even better!! Dee and Kia are top notch and on the ball with everything.the menu changes every season so far 4 stars

Had dinner with friends on Saturday. Three of us are vegetarian and Lily's had more options that most restaurants in our area. We had the winter gnocchi, veggie burger, bruschetta, rosemary mashed potatoes and gnocchi in a creamy garlic sauce. Everything was delicious. The bartender was so friendly and personable. She was very attentive and was back to check our table several times. The venue is clean and I understand in the process of some updates. Loved the art style in the entry area to the banquet room. Will definitely return.

This place is great! The place to be on Tuesday's for trivia! Food and drinks are fabulous; Linda and Dee are extra fabulous!

Tucked away at River Forest golf course this place is a gem. Trivia is fun. Drinks are good. Kevin thinks he's smart. He is. Frank is smart. Dee Dee is smart. We're all smart...when we drink.
