I really love this place. Even though it's a chain it has character and has won me over. The fried chicken is the main attraction, and they used to serve Po' Boys here - loved those- but I think they stopped. Cornbread is also great.

THE WORST CHICKEN I HAVE EVER EATEN!! It looked very good. But, it was gummy and stringy. It was worse than any rubber chicken that I've ever eaten at a small town firehall wedding reception. The service was terrible. Even making an exception for the Valentines Day holiday; it took forever to get waited on, and even longer to get our meals. My wife requested an additional glass of wine, which we never received.$80.00 for two 5-piece servings of rubber chicken, 1 glass of wine, and a raspberry tea! No thank you!

My husband and I grabbed a fairly last minute reservation for Valentine's Day. Traffic was awful and we were a bit late but they were very nice about it. We were greeted by two very enthusiastic people and seated right away. We've been here before and it's a cute place. There's a bar in the middle with lots of seating - low tables, high top tables, and rounded booths. We waited for our server as we perused the special Valentine's Day menu. The person who sat us came back over and said that our server was swamped so she grabbed us some water. Then about 10 minutes later she saw that we still hadn't been visited so she took our orders as well. We got a spicy chicken dip to share (it's very spicy but so delicious). We also both ordered Prosecco which was also brought over by the same person (still no server to be seen). Someone from the kitchen brought out our meals. I ordered a 1/4 white meat with a side of mac and cheese. Both were very good and I was only able to eat a little less than half of my portion. FINALLY, our server stopped by to see if we liked our food and refilled our drinks. She never introduced herself. She was very nice but I would have appreciated a quick apology for not showing up at our table until we already had food. Our server gave us the check and disappeared. We had a show to attend afterward so my husband left to take our leftovers to the car while I searched for the server so we could pay. Guess what?! The same person who sat us, got our water, served our Prosecco, etc came over to ring us out as well. I asked her name because honestly she earned the tip much more than our server. Her name is Nicole and she assured us that she is a manager and was happy to help. We appreciate that so much and she saved for experience from being a poor one for sure! For the record we are amazing tippers. Especially on a holiday, I had planned to tip at least 50% of the bill but I just could not justifying doing so when we saw our server twice - once to check in on our food/refill our water and another to drop off the bill. We gave 15% and moved on. If I had cash on me, I would have given the difference of what I had planned to give to Nicole. Again, she's amazing! I'm sure we will end up there again. It's such a convenient location especially when you are seeing a show at any of those theaters. Thanks for the fun night.

About a month ago my friend and I chose this spot to spend our Steeler Sunday! She's a vegetarian and I was surprised at how many options this place had for her when she suggested it! Our server was so so kind and attentive, with multiple other staff members checking in throughout our experience. The restaurant wasn't busy, so our food came super quickly! We ordered the hushpuppies, kale salad, Mac n cheese, sweet potatoes, spoon bread, and I ordered the fried chicken BLT for myself. We shared everything else and were stuffed with leftovers to spare! I enjoyed the champagne punch and blackberry lemonade! The blackberry lemonade was giant! Definitely a generous cocktail serving! They have multiple locations in other cities and I am so glad we have this spot in Pittsburgh! The standouts for me were the fried chicken BLT and the Mac n cheese!

I've been here a few times now. The food is always delicious. The service can be slow at times but worth the wait. The chicken is incredibly juicy and full of flavor. I usually end up taking half home. I've tried almost all the sides and can't go wrong with any of them. My favorite is the mac and cheese. It's convenient to the cultural district or even a short walk to the stadiums across the river.

The Eagle in Pittsburgh is a warm, laid-back spot that specializes in elevated comfort food, and our recent visit highlighted its emphasis on flavor and indulgence. We started with the Mac & Cheese side, which was rich, creamy, and deeply satisfying. The combination of five cheeses created a luscious, slightly tangy base, complemented by garlic breadcrumbs on top that added a delightful crunch and garlicky finish. Each bite was velvety and full of flavor, hitting that perfect balance between comfort food nostalgia and a gourmet twist. The side of fries were also a highlight, generously tossed in fresh herbs and paired with a side of aioli. They were crisp on the outside and tender inside, with the herbs adding a fragrant dimension that made them more than just a side dish. The aioli was creamy and well-seasoned, providing a nice, tangy dip that we couldn't get enough of.Finally, the Fried Chicken sandwich that Matt ordered was a definite standout. The fried chicken breast was perfectly golden with a crispy crust that gave way to juicy, flavorful meat. The combination of spicy mayo and house-made pickles added a welcome kick, while the creamy coleslaw brought a cool, tangy contrast that balanced the heat and crunch. It was a hearty, well-constructed sandwich that showcased The Eagle's ability to elevate a classic.Overall, The Eagle offers a great mix of Southern-inspired dishes with a modern twist. The portions were generous, the flavors were bold, and the quality of ingredients shone through in each dish. This place is ideal for anyone seeking comfort food with a bit of flair, and we left feeling happily full and looking forward to our next visit. #GOUDapproved

Great food! The fried chicken was so good and the winter salad was very good too. Service was pretty good but didn't offer any refills on our drinks. 4 stars only because the restaurant's credit card system went down.

We stopped in after a ln early performance around the street and were able to sit right away. We all really enjoyed the atmosphere but it was still a little empty at the time. The sides were the best part of everyone's dishes. I actually had the shrimp and grits (done really well I might add) and the burnt ends instead of a full meal. My cohorts each had a quarter chicken which they said was alright but didn't knock them back. A few other menu items were interesting enough to make it all worth giving the place another shot for next time. The tap selection was decent too and everyone found something they enjoyed.

While the food was great, the service was unfortunately, forgettable. The fried chicken was flavorful and juicy. The biscuits were more like scones as they were dense, but the accompaniments paired well. Our favorite was the jalapeño hush puppies with the comeback sauce. Just the right amount of heat - try it with the hot honey.
