The Confluence is a collaboration of the Cray- Youth & Family Services outreach program and a fun and open meeting spot for just about anything you would need. Their small but efficient restaurant serves sandwiches & salads, fries & baked potatoes and daily soups. I had the Chicken Caesar Salad ($7.95) which was very good & reasonably priced. The kitchen is all open, and I like that, so you can see how well they are preparing your food. I can't say all that much about the location, as it was just me dining for lunch and only there for maybe a half hour. I did see that they have bands, open stage & a decent PA & speaker set up. Being that I'm from Pittsburgh & only working here, I don't see me sticking around for Happy Hour, not that their website says anything about serving alcohol, maybe it's a BYOB place, but it DOES say acoustic music every Thursday night. I would also suggest this place host a Comedy Night, would also be a great spot to host a Micro-Brew or Wine night, could easily house a Painting with a Twist type business... New Castle NEEDS new businesses, and this town is ripe for the picking...

The Radio is too loud for a place where you're supposed to be able to come during the weekdays, whether to do some work on your laptop, some homework, some news updates etc.. and the hours make no sense 7am to 2pm, and there is some little white guy that works there who uses foul disgusting language and misnomers

Such a huge beautiful space. Great coffee and food. And it's a non profit! I went in and was waited on quickly. There is a cute little self serve dessert rack as well as biscotti and juices. They serve delicious coffee and everyone was ordering sandwiches and salads. There is art along the walls, a small stage, book shelves and meeting tables. The fireplace was lit and was a warm welcome as I walked in.

Warm and inviting. Top notch food selection . Something for everyone. All menu items are made to order right before your eyes . Absolutely delicious and beautiful grilled chicken salads, sandwiches to die for. (Bronx Bomber a favorite)Decadent homemade desserts , most made in house, catch your eye at the counter. Huge space with local artists featured on walls leading to the lending library which also has a kids corner for the little ones. Very clean and impressive. Proceeds go to a great cause. Service with a smile every time .

It seems like this place is for sandal wearing liberals. Kind of pricey too. The pizza isn't anything great.

I hosted my sister's bridal shower at The Confluence with owner Mandy's expert assistance. My day job is, in-part, as an event planner, so I am familiar with the many components required to host a good party. The Confluence is charming and comfortable as a setting. I loved the soft lighting. Mandy and our additional help for the day, Megan, were wonderful. They accommodated our many requests. The Confluence has open space for spreading out a large group and movable seating to help with many event styles. Everything was set up just as discussed when we arrived to decorate. Mandy even permitted my family extra time to prepare the space. Parking is available along the street and in the plaza directly across E Washington St. Traffic was light on the Saturday of the event, so our guests had no trouble crossing over. That section of New Castle holds fond memories for me as I've attended several music nights at The Confluence and next door at the amphitheater.I was truly impressed with the menu that Mandy can prepare. Again, I've worked with many caterers in my career. We chose fresh, bright options - salad, fruit, slider sandwiches, dips, etc. - for an early afternoon shower. Everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the chicken salad. In terms of service, I never had to worry about coffee or other beverages running low. Mandy and Megan frequently checked for me and replaced carafes. Finally, I want to mention how special it is that The Confluence constantly gives back to the New Castle community. The connection to Cray Family, library on the premises, and evidence of other organizations using the space to meet, warmed my heart. It was an honor to work with The Confluence knowing that the money my family spent would support residents in need. I highly recommend Mandy and The Confluence.

UNBELIEVABLE! The name evades me, but the coffee, food and staff will remain in our memories. The coffee, biscotti were rewarding with a smartness, but the best was the grilled cheese on cranberry walnut bread with stuffed pepper cheese. If you ever wanted to glimpse at the turn of the century, go to New Castle, but before you leave, go to Confluence.

We recently had a wedding reception there. I would not recommend it to others. The owner was difficult to deal with to put it nicely. The tables in the banquet are are way too small. I didn't care for the décor. The only positive I would say is that the food is really good. I would recommend eating there but not to have a gathering of more than 50 people. If you do, be sure to have a contract written up.
