I was a part of a wedding that chose the Barn at Ligonier Valley as both the ceremony and reception space. It was beautiful inside and out, and the wedding was truly wonderful. Here are the main things to note:Pros:-Beautiful interior reception space. Large, and quite flexible.-Reception area was cooled nicely.-Easily adapted to move a ceremony indoors due to rain. It was probably better that the ceremony was indoors, because the outdoor space had a few issues.-Different wall textures and outdoor set ups allowed for a variety of pictures.-Food was fine, but not spectacular.Cons:-We couldn't get into the barn when we needed to, and the owners and staff were not always on time.-The bridal suite is in desperate need of cleaning and remodeling. It's incredibly hot, so wearing a giant wedding dress gets extremely uncomfortable pretty fast. We were able to get them to bring in a big, dirty, fan that was probably 40 years old, and pretty dangerous. The carpet was very rough, and very uncomfortable to be kneeling on when trying to bustle a bride's gown! It was just old, dirty, hot and uncomfortable. A bride needs to be cool, comfortable, and have a place to sit down her glass of champagne before the wedding.-Staff started cleaning up before the party was over - we had the barn until midnight, so I didn't want to see people cleaning up until we were done cleaning up our decorations and out of the way. They started coming in at about 11, and kept moving our things and getting in our way as we were trying to wrap up.-There is a gazebo for outdoor ceremonies, but it is very close to the road, and doesn't provide a very nice backdrop. Brides have to walk from the barn through the parking lot to get to the ceremony location.

Be warned there is NO communication. They falsely advertise an event coordinator for your day but what you get is actually a catering coordinator (two different jobs). At the end of the wedding the catering coordinator asked me for a tip. There was a 21% gratuity on the final invoice and they never let me know where that went to when I asked. The seating/set up chart I received was NOT how it was set up the day of. There was a wedding the day before mine and we had to intrude on them to have our rehearsal which was unfair to them (I just hope their wedding turned out better than ours). The ceremony site was left over from the day before and a complete mess we had to realign the chairs ourselves. If you take Tim up on officiating he might decide to back out last minute and not tell you and have someone else do it who let's their phone ring during the ceremony and NEVER turn in your marriage license until you get a state representative involved. Their response was a $500 refund which I did receive but for the amount of stress they put me under on my wedding day that I shouldn't of had to deal with is unacceptable. I won't recommend this venue or the catering. The food was good but I do not want to support any businesses owned by Carson's Catering again.

My daughter got married at the " BARN " this past weekend. The venue was beautiful. The food from Carson's catering was fantastic. Everyone attending raved about everything. But more importantly was the staff. Lindsay was in charge of the staff and did a great job. Everyone was professional and went out of their way to make everything perfect. Also I have to give a big shout out to the bartenders.

I attended a wedding at the barn in Ligonier this past summer and it was a really cool and unique venue. It has rustic and authentic barn details throughout; from the wooden columns to the wagon wheels above the entrance doors. The nice part about the barn is that it is air controlled, so in the middle of August we were comfortable inside while it was so hot outside. The venue was very accommodating to all the guests. There is a ramp outside to the front door for guests in a wheelchair and it is mostly carpet throughout, which is nice on the feet when you take those dreadful high heels off! I really liked all the decorative details throughout, such as the lights and tulle on the ceiling and the lanterns along the walls. It was just a very pleasantly unique and "cool" (literally) venue from your typical "barn" weddings.
