Wow. We were not expecting what we got at this small quaint restaurant. There isn't so many seats, indoor or outside in the back patio area, so I'd recommend that you get reservations before coming to secure your spot. We drove down from Toronto, and we were in the mood for a comfort meal. But this place has incredibly well flavoured dishes, each one was so unique and well made. The owner Gina, surely is passionate about this place, becuase the decor was beautiful, the tables she tended to, and we really felt like guests in her home. Not only this, but we were fortunate enough to meet another member of the couples family, whose name is Tucker close to closing time (we were the last people in the building). I was really missing my dog, but this was such a welcome treat to see this lil guy wonder around, being super friendly, and was also welcoming to petting. Shortly after we arrived, Gina brought over breat and pistachio pesto, the breat was herbed and well infused with rosemary, the addition of pistachios to the pesto was really nice! We started off with the glazed Brussel sprouts with bacon. I have NEVER had a better appetizer in my life. These sprouts were soft in the middle, and crunchy on the outside, with a light sweetness from the maple syrup glaze. The bacon, there was a healthy serving topping the sprouts, crispy and well cooked, not burnt! This was so perfectly done. I wish I could preserve this to take it back home with me.. the shrimp and calamari were nice, they sat on top of a bed of leaves. The coating was salted to perfection, and crunchy all the way to the end of the meal. To be honest we were not expecting such large portions. For our main course, thank goodness we only ordered one to share. The lobster linguine, it was in a rich butter sauce, the lobster was moist, and full of flavour. The pasta was the same. I wasn't able to eat everything, but since all of the items we ordered were amazing, we had to try the dessert, and were so happy and sad that we did. Happy because this decadent home made layered cake was creative, and tasted like it should be in the window of a top tier pastry chefs bakery. Sad because we didn't have much room to eat all of it! We came in looking at the yelp reviews, and craving crab cakes which wasn't on the menu, however it's so nice to see that the menu keeps with the seasons, and hopefully this means more locally sourced items to support our friends and neighbours. Either way we were a great distance from any disappointment. My dining partner kept saying they were full.... But sent each one of their dishes back empty lol (minus the dessert.... Reluctantly).We want to thank Gina and her family (of course Tucker deserves another mention!) for making our fight night in Pittsburgh one that we will remember. The food is absolutely phenomenal, and we will be back at the of our short trip in this town to do it all over again, and take some goodies home to our family. The five stars that I rarely given are well deserved.

LOVE this restaurant! It's located in what looks like a house...the inside is intimate, warm and welcoming with thoughtfully added touches on each table. Caesar salad was delicous, lettuce was crisp and fresh, dressing was just right; complimentary bread and dipping oil was delicious; entree portion was generous and also delicious. Our server was welcoming and knowledgeable. All around very impressed and highly recommended. Would definitely return. Support local!

I love a unique spot in the South Hills! I visited The 404 with a bestie on a Friday night and was totally delighted with the ambiance, the staff, and the food. We ordered two different entrees to share, as well as the greens and beans app. The scallops with risotto were INCREDIBLE. From first to last bite, I was enamoured. The filet Oscar was less captivating, so I'll likely skip that one next time. The moral of the story is, 404 has the 411 on an elevated dining experience that you should definitely taste!

Wow just wow! From the appetizers to the dessert! We ordered bisque - chopped salad crab cakes and scallops with crab fried rice! The ambience... family - the service a HUGE shout out to Emily amazing - accommodating - knowledgeable!!! The owners Dan and Gina approachable and really invested in the business! I've never had a bad meal here! I love the BYOB concept and the $10 corking fee is really reasonable. The charm of the house is present throughout the restaurant so it's a unique dining spot in the south hills. The folks are friendly and often see the owner onsite.

Ambiance and staff is super friendly and awesome!Food was delicious! We called last minute for availability and they had a table so we went for dinner. It was such a nice touch when we walked in and the super cute table had our name written in calligraphy at the table. A super nice touch. Upon walking in everyone is super friendly and the decor is super cute. They were also nice to our kids.. which doesn't always happen.Food was delish! We ordered the Misto and mussels for apps. The misto had a great Asian sauce drizzled over top and we ate ever bit. For dinner we ordered steak (which they split nicely for the kiddos) which came with a yummy Gorgonzola pasta, short rib with a yummy pasta and their lobster dish complete with a butter candle. Of course we didn't stop there.... Dessert was a homemade strawberry shortcake with homemade biscuit and warm strawberries. We can't wait to go back!!

Staff is very pleasant. Starter (fig and goat cheese bruschetta)and salad (roasted beet) were excellent. Entree (grouper with capers) was mid. Flavors were good, but fish seemed to have been frozen and was dense, yet mushy. Left disappointed this time.
