Tequila Cowboy Bar & Grill

This is a very popular spot -- it's located very near Stage AE and the stadiums, so it gets pretty crowded after concerts and sporting events. Students from the local universities come here all the time. There are bars and ice carts with beers + seltzers all over the place. The main room has a pretty big dance floor, and there is another room with karaoke + some outdoor space. You'll probably have to wait to order at the bar, but not longer than any other bar. One thing I will say is that staff is all over you from the moment you walk in. I've never felt like I was being babysat so much. There are attendants in the bathroom, which helps keep it clean and stocked and keep things moving, so it was nice in that regard. And I understand they don't want there to be long lines or have people crowding there. But it made it tough to keep track of everyone in our group when we were constantly being shooed out of hallways and away from doors and alcoves -- pretty much the only place they just let you be is in the middle of the crowded floor. Overall not really my vibe, but it was fine.

It's not my vibe for going out but I've had a couple of fun times out here without it being overly packed or overwhelming. I also recently had a casual dinner and apps here with friends and their nachos & wings were amazing!!Super large sports bar, popular after sporting events in the North Shore. Miss the bull, but understand it was a liability. Love all the different rooms they have for karaoke and such. One time had a room to ourselves (me and my 4 friends, plus 5-6 other strangers) it was such a good time

Came into town for the weekend, tried this place for dinner. The food was okay at best. I had the Diablo Pasta which wasn't really all that hot, & my fiancé had the Cowboy Mac & Cheese which she said lacked flavor. It was okay, but the food isn't this place's strong point. Service was great! Very attentive & friendly. Fantastic. The place is very well done. 3) separate bars, plenty of tv's. Nice vibe. Usually a college crowd, but not obnoxious. Prices were reasonable considering the location. Definitely worth checking out.

Came in before a Steelers preseason game and the place was electric. They had a live band who was good. We came in after there set started and they never gave their name while we were there. The drinks were balanced well and there was plenty of police officers and security because this place can get a little rowdy. Our server was fantastic as we sat up by the tequila bar even though she was completely slammed. We had already had dinner but we ordered the pretzel app and it was solid. The highlight was while the country band was playing the Steel Line came in and took over when they finished a song. The band on stage had absolutely no idea that 35 drummers and a couple of horn players were going to take over. The place lost its mind and the band was recording everything for their socials. Hey, it's game day on the North Shore. The place is built to be what you think a country music bar is and has become. It's always a good time here.

Stopped by here after the Pirates game. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio and our service was prompt and quick. The drinks were solid and it was nice to get in and out of here quickly based on our plans.

This place is so fun to go to with friends. It's more for the college crowd but it's still fun for older people. It gets Hella crazy though. The food is pretty good and the drinks are decently priced not too crazy for Pittsburgh. I love the fact there are multiple bars within the bar itself.... especially wannabes which is a karaoke bar! Must go if you love to sing!

The first time I went to tequila cowboy, I just got off work and I ordered a vodka cran. For some reason it tasted like peanut butter not sure how? The second time I went she double charged my card for 2 drinks and took the cash as a tip, very disappointed, because she even asked if it was 2 separate payments and I agreed.

It is mu favorite place to go out in Pittsburgh. There's usually a good atmosphere on a Friday or Saturday night. Drinks are good in general, I am not sure about the food because I've never eaten there. The service is pretty good except when it gets really busy. Just be careful going there on new years eve. Last NYE was super crowded.

Staff asked my name, I was irritated and said I was gonna head out. Cooled off and was like you know what? I wanna know why. It's been 2 hours."What probably happened was 20 people came up and gave him money."So I gotta bribe you to sing? I would've had more than two drinks so everyone's losing money, esp the bartenders, and I won't be coming back. "Not really but I'll get you next."Got that pity play - and the DJ stopped the track mid song I mentioned it on a Facebook group and apparently this is pretty par for the course there (and only there,) so that's cool. Other thing of note: Had to use the restroom and there's an attendant staring at his phone. One stall was dirty, another had piss alllll over, the third was manageable but the seat cover dispenser was kicked in and empty and $8.50 for a vodka redbull with cheap vodka so that's cool...Called and spoke with a manager. She was not about that life and apologized. She was very disappointed in the staff member. She also said that this situation was an issue they tried to resolve by getting a new KJ because old reviews are based on a guy they had problems with, and she's very disappointed to learn this happened. She said she will discuss with staff, manager, and KJ and hopes to see me back.
