Four of us went at 6:30pm yesterday for dinner. The inside is small and cozy with limited seating. We family styled a lot of different things so we got to try basically half the menu. Everything we tried was delicious! My faves were the yasai kakiage (it's deep fried but has veggies so it's healthy!), bacon mochi (the flavor and textures were incredible), the yakisoba with beef, and the crunchy and lightly sweet kinako mochi puffs! The service was very fast and we got all our food and paid by 8pm.

3.4/5 StarsThis place is gorgeous. The decor and the atmosphere is SO lovely. The items here contain mostly Japanese street food and small bites here and there. I think it's a bit pricy for what you're paying for. I would say if you know that you like the items offered here, this restaurant will deliver what you're asking for, but nothing beyond. My okonomiyaki with yakisoba tasted pretty solid, but I wouldn't pay the price for it again. My friends yakisoba portion seemed pretty lackluster and wasn't particularly flavorful or well made. He commented his noodles lacked freshness. If youre a lover of japanese food, give this place a try if you're willing to spend a lot on items you could realistically recreate much more affordably/satisfyingly at home. This place benefits a lot from its location though, lots of lovely buildings and establishments surrounding it. I'd return here to try the dessert and maybe a drink next time.

This place was delicious. We came for a friends birthday because she had been wanting to try it out. Everything that we ordered was delicious. The yuzu cheesecake was cheap and delicious. Service was great. You can order through your phone as well so it makes it very convenient.

A beautiful flight of delicious food and fancy. We really enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the Chef's do their thing. I would definetely recommend making a reservation on peak nights if you want a table- either way you will receive great service. My favorite was the salmon Teppanyaki. I have never had such crispy salmon skin. Do not skip the takoyaki. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Hiroshimayaki (the pancake just wasn't my thing) but my partner cleared the plate happily! Drinks were also great and good variety.

We had such a fun meal here! Four of us split a little of a lot of the items on the menu. We loved the ability to order on your phone as it allows for flexibility and adding more to your meal as you go. Every bite of food was good, from the warm and cozy miso soup to the flavorful and soft gyoza to the crunchy and delightful miso pork katsu. Kimchi and takuan were a good refreshing change of pace between bites. The katsu chicken curry had good flavor and was a large portion. My favorite thing we got was the kamo negi which was so delicious. We tried a few desserts as well and the matcha ice cream was the decided favorite of the group, a refreshing and not too sweet ending to the meal

It is one of the Pittsburgh restaurants that my wife and I regularly go to for dinner. I like Hiroshima yaki with pork, miso katsu and tako wasabi. My wife loves karaage. On a weeknight when we're tired from work, having dinner here is somehow comforting.

This place has a lot of good reviews, but I didn't really think it was anything special. The dining room is half open and the whole thing is a little dreary feeling. Our server was friendly, but it took nearly a half hour to get her to come around for our order. The dishes came out sort of haphazardly with not a lot of thought to making sure there wasn't someone at the table left waiting for their course. She didn't ask if we wanted dessert and instead just presented the checks. All in all, it just felt a little disjointed. The food was ok overall. I sampled the Hiroshimayaki, the Pork Gyoza, and the smoked salmon special. We did end up getting the puffed mochi for dessert (FYI - this tastes peanuty for those who have allergies). The salmon was presented on a bed of onion, which was a little odd, I thought. Nothing we had was bad, but I didn't really love any of it either. In the end, I wouldn't avoid the place, but I wouldn't pick it either.

Delicious authentic Japanese food, about the closest thing you get in PGH. Tasted just like the same dishes I tried in Kyoto. The okonomiyaki was great, and they make some of the best takoyaki I've ever had. The servers were extremely kind and the seating was also very cozy. Would absolutely recommend to anyone that wants to try real Japanese food, past ramen and sushi.

Authentic Kyoto style Japanese food. The Ambience and setting takes you to Japan... you can watch the chefs cook your food right in front of you if you sit at the bar. This is a family run and super friendly staff makes sure you feel at home. The cold unfiltered sake was delicious and a must tryThe shrimp tempura was so so delicate and crunchy melting in your mouth. All dishes were made fresh and tasted yummy. A must try for the entire family
