Tangier Bar & Pizza

I walked in and the place was smiling good celebrating a friend birthday so we order pizza white sauce with sausage mushrooms and pepper and i also order a chicken bacon ranch wrap for home one twelve inch pizza can feed 3 to 4 people we just made it and i I forgot menu shots, but drinks and food were affordable. The ambiance was fun it was a Wednesday, and they had karaoke, so it was a night to remember will have to come back the service great the staff was friendly and helpful thanks to the Wednesday night women crew

I really want to give this place a good review. I'm from Youngstown but no longer live here and I was really craving Youngstown pizza. Well on a Monday, anything I really would have wanted was closed (Elmpton, Uptown, etc) this place happen to be close to where we were headed and meeting a friend so went there. I used to come here but tonight the food was decent so the review is mostly based off of the lady behind the bar who actually didn't end up servicing us at all. Long story short, we were hanging out at table having some drinks and the server brought the check and we continued to hang after paying bill. She had moved on and clearly didn't want to keep waiting on us as we didn't even ask for the check but whatever. So first complaint, bringing the check when we weren't really ready to leave. Second, we move to the bar since we had closed out with her and once that happened, lady with short hair and bright striped sideways bangs looked at us twice while behind the bar but clearly saw us and it's not busy . We just wanted one more. Anyways she doesn't say hey I'll be right with you but I think I hear her say to someone else something along the line of what are they trying to make things hard on everybody. Well mam, no we were closed out because I figured the server wanted to leave. Sooo after this, I'm like let's just leave, clearly no one wants to wait on us and I'm not too sure why. I'm not a regular however I would have left a great tip and I work in the industry so what you don't want my money. Fine guess you won't get it. We walked out.

I never wrote a review? I really like this place. Wedsday is $6.00 12" pizza, comes with green peppers. They also have Brier Hill and White, your choice of the three. Wings for .35 on Tuesdays. And a honking huge lasagna for $7 on Sundays, just ask for it browned, sometimes it comes out room temperature. They got really really good food. A wraparound bar, plenty of tables and chairs for groups. And a nice fenced in outdoor patio.The place gets four out of five stars, the pizza crust is nicely raised, cooked to a gold brown. Really exactly my favorite kind of pizza pie crust. Chewy and just thick enough. And the pizza comes with plenty of cheese, and sauce that is tangy/sweet and just enough, not too much.In the end, a nice place, really friendly staff, really GOOD FOOD, and good drink specials and happy hour.Recommended as a good place to go if you are just in town for a short visit, or you have lived here for years and want that chewy tasty cheesy tangy pizza pie!Feb 24 2020...Added a couple pix. I FINALLY got the $10 strip steak dinner. Baked tater and a salad. Seriously so much better than it had any right to be. I ordered rare, and got RARE! Made me so happy! I also got mushrooms. Got a bowl of thick sliced shrooms. Seriously it was so great! And bartender/server was attentive. Great service. Was like 4:00pm, in case the owner reading this.

Called 3x they kept hanging up. I thought it was just my phone. Ordered online and got two pickup times via text so I called again. Carla put me on hold for five minutes and never came back. Food took 15 minutes longer than pick up time, but there were only six customers inside and employees just standing around talking. My wife was inside to pick up, they made her go outside in the rain to another door, instead of just going in the kitchen to get it. The food was ok, but don't go there if you want a good experience.

Beware... the pizza comes with peppers and they will not make any exceptions nor will they correct or acknowledge their errors. The manager enthusiastically told us they have made pizza with peppers since 1951. I guess we were supposed to know that but it certainly isn't written on the menu. The first time we ordered a pizza, it came with peppers. We accepted the blame for that one. We ordered a second time explicitly requesting no peppers on the pizza. We got the pizza home... it had peppers. I called them and told them, they took down our name and "put it on the board." (I believe this to be a fictitious board because they had no record of the error or the phone call only 2 weeks later)We went to Tangier today and told the very helpful waitress what happened. She was accommodating and kind. The manager, however, was arrogant, argumentative and confrontational. He told us that he would not replace the pizza since it just came with peppers. It has always been that way since 1951 (he told us that quite loudly) and then accused us of trying to get a free pizza. Honestly, I expect more from a "mom & pop" place like Tangier. I do hope the owner sees this and sends the manager back to remedial customer service school.

Good food for a good price. Nice atmosphere with a good crowd. Even though it's basically a bar with food I take my kids. Their specials are really good and they didn't blow their prices through the roof.

i used to work there....nasty, trifling kitchen....cooks don't wear gloves while cooking or preparing food....especially scottie...hes the boss in the morning

Yesterday I placed an order online on their website. One of the items I ordered was the lasagna. I also placed it for delivery. Now after I placed my order I received a Facebook message asking if I ordered today, which was weird.. why wouldn't they call me to verify? I answered yes and asked if everything was ok with my order. After getting no response back and waiting an hour for my food, I called them. They proceeded to tell me that "first of all we have no delivery drivers today. Second of all we no longer have lasagna. And third of all there's no delivery address on your order." Ok.. first of all I chose delivery because I had a sick kid at home, but I would have picked up if needed. Second of all why do you have it on your menu available to order then if you no longer serve it? And third of all yes there was. It's on my receipt. I said fine can you just cancel my order and refund me? She tries and says the computer isn't letting her refund it. So she will have to call the owner and call me back. Ok. I wait. And wait. After an hour I hear nothing back. I call again. The woman on the phone says the original person I spoke to will call me back in 5 minutes. Ok... another hour goes by and nothing. By this time it's around 730, I've heard nothing, and my kid is starving. I end up ordering something else. And I decide to wait until the next day, today. I call this morning and explain my situation. She says I'll call the supervisor and he will call you within 45 minutes... more waiting.. after 2 hours no one calls me. I call for 4th time to resolve this and get my $81 back. She again tells me that the supervisor is out delivering an order and he will call me. I tell her I've been calling since yesterday and no one is calling me back or trying to resolve this. I feel like they are giving me the runaround. She says I'm sorry I'm not even in the facility and I can't do anything else for you. After work I drive there and speak to someone telling them I'm frustrated because I spent $81 and got no food and no one is helping me. I just want my money back. He apologizes and gives me cash. So I did get my money back but the service, or lack of service, was awful and I will never order here again. If they would have just called me back and gave some effort in resolving this, I wouldn't be so upset and frustrated. But I had to call 4 times and eventually physically go there just to get my money.

I ordered a sausage sandwich through U er Eats and the sausage was as a rock! The fries were good but the sandwich was a bust. wasted my money.

I have long counted on Tangier for a tasty pizza. They have expanded their menu and their fried or baked fish on Friday is luscious. Fries, Mac and cheese, Pierogi or Haluski are available sides. Pierogi may be a little greasy
