Sunset Terrace

Least promoted spot on the property but we enjoyed the meal for lunch on our last day. Don't mind the older reviews - very tasty, great service and nice outdoor eating location.

Lunch spot for the pool and golfers. Higher end fare that does not make the cut. We ordered sushi, which had a tiny amount of fish surrounded by a giant glob of rice. Also an ahi tuna sandwich, which had excellent components but the roll was so big that you couldn't taste the fish.

The food and service were great. We rented a cabana and our server was Jackie. She was attentive and made sure our drinks never went dry. She went above and beyond and got us a bottle of wine from one of the other restaurants. I would definitely recommend the cabana if you are going to have a few drinks and some food at the pool. We had the sea bass and the ribeye sandwich. They were great and the fries are awesome!

The only saving grace of this place is that the service was wonderful. Ross was phenomenal and very good at his job. The food...Sushi roll. awful. horrible. The proportion of fish to rice was the strangest thing I have ever seen. The roll was huge, about the size of a silver dollar. The amount of fish was slightly larger than a normal bic pen cap. Uncanny, i have never seen such a ridicous anomaly. Further compounding the problem was the rice. I don't know what kind of rice they used, but it was definitely not sushi rice. It was some tiny grained chewy, slightly undercooked rubbish.We got a couple "eastern" wraps. Sweet baby Jesus. Absolutely disgusting. the shrimp wrap was not warm, not cold, kind of a gross luke warm. The quality of the ingredients tasted like I was eating from the back of a Sisco truck (or GFS truck - your choice). We got some other cauliflower wrap. It said cauliflower and potatoes, but the potatoes were potato chips and the cauliflower was scarce at best. There was also some disgusting mayo based sauce that was presumably heated and then placed in the wrap. I don't know how a resort would stand for such shitty quality food. The chef should be fired for even trying to serve that garbage. Do they really not taste the crap they serve? And to top it all off, those three items were like $42 (pre-tip). JOKE.

Sunset Terrace is open during the golf season at Falling Rock, Nemacolin's boutique hotel. It's a cool place to get lunch because it's right next to the infinity pool and you can see the Mystic Rock golf course.It's only open from May through October (when the hotel is open) and the deck its located on is only open weather permitting. I had the Chicken Quesadilla during lunch with some of my co-workers during a recent biz trip. Good food, decent service. There are much better dining options at Nemacolin if you're looking for a meal, but its hard to beat the location and views of Sunset Terrace for a lunch at Nemacolin.

Beautiful view from the patio. Restaurant was not crowded at all. Service was good but slow, especially since we were pretty much the only diners. We all ordered soup. At least ten minutes later they came out to tell us they were out of both of their soups. You would think they'd know that right away when the order was put in. Food was good. I had turkey wrap with side salad. Balsamic dressing was delicious and wrap was tasty. Husband had crab grilled cheese with fries. Sandwich was very tasty but not hot which it should've been. Fries were good but also not hot. Portions were decent although friend had spinach salad with chicken and it seemed quite small. Prices were average ($13-18 for sandwiches). Overall nice lunch and relaxing atmosphere.
